Our stay at Natalia's house was in all really pleasant. Natalia and her husband picked us up from the city center when we asked and showed us the very neat house. Everything we needed was there and trips & tips for the city where friendly explained by Natalia and her mother, who speak really good English. A very nice house outside the busy city center with a quite beach across the street. We would definitely come back to the family when visiting Batumi!
The accommodation is not in Batumi, but in the next village, Maximjauri, half an hour travel from Batumi on bus. The host came to the bus station for us. Bathroom dirty but sheets all clean. breakfast: dont take it so seriously. Welcoming family but for this price you can find much better accommodation in a more central place (not so far like this) as I experienced at many other places and payments during my travel all over Georgia. In Tbilisi I payed HALF price for twice more nights in a central place in clean environment with caring people who understood that travelling with a child is different than alone or in pairs. However they let me meet my friend in the garden to talk in the night. On our last day we experienced a huge flood , rains from morning. despite breakfast was promised, the hosts did not appear until 12:30 (I was with a 5 years old kid and it was impossible to leave the house to the market because of very heavy rains!!!!). then they invited us for some lunch. We were not asked to leave the house, it was good , because we could not leave in the horrible rain with a little child and they did not mind that we are there till evening. The mother of Nat told us that they will take us to the station but in last minute they said that a family member took the car. they called a taxi for us. we reached the train in last minute luckily. Surrealistic experience. So far I never had that with any of my previous stays as you can see the reviews from my hosts. First time not too convenient experience.

When I arrived at the Makhinjauri train station (just outside of Batumi) Natalia (Nato) and her mom were waiting there for me. If you are worried about language, don't be! Nato and her mother are both great English speakers. They quickly made me feel welcomed and did an overview of what I needed to know for my stay with them. They showed me the way to the beach (just across the street) and taught me the best ways to get in and out of Batumi by public transportation or taxi. Nato's home is an excellent place for rest and relaxation, plus it is conveniently located in regards to the city. The neighborhood itself is warm and inviting. There's a little market on the corner where the shopkeeper will greet you with a warm smile and friendly, interesting neighbors across the street and next door! Overall, Nato and her family were amazing hosts, very hospitable! I learned so much more about Georgia and it's culture during my stay with them. I even received a language lesson! I highly recommend visiting Nato's home. You will truly become part of the family!
First: You won't find a place closer to the Black Sea. There's a beautiful beach directly across the railroad tracks (which also means it's close to the main train station). An easy-to-catch bus will take you to town whenever you want. Second: You won't find a family more hospitable and interesting than Natalia and her husband. Great rooms, nice warm showers after the beach, delicious food, and warm conversations about Batumi and Georgian life. I was included as part of their family while I stayed there and will keep in touch with them as friends.
