There is plenty of unrestricted street parking on 6TH ST S (right outside the building). DO NOT PARK ON THE SIDE SERVICE ROAD. YOU WILL GET TOWED.
If you are planning on taking public transportation, the apartment is about 2 miles from 3 different metro stations: Ballston, Pentagon City and Courthouse metro stations.
If you decide not to walk and prefer to take the bus to Ballston Metro Station, walk to South Walter Reed and 6TH ST (Few steps away) and hop in Metro Bus line B6 which will get you to Ballston Metro Station in 8 minutes.
If you prefer to go to Courthouse Metro Station, hop in Arlington Transit Bus ART 77 that runs through 6TH S (right in front of the building entrance) and will get you to the Courthouse metro station in about 7 minutes.
If you prefer to head to Pentagon City Mall and Metro station, please walk up to Columbia Pike and hop in Metro bus 16G which will get you to Pentagon City metro and mall in about 8 minutes.
My personal favorite method of public transportation is UberX considering convenience, comfort and cost. (The average cost for a trip from the apartment to National Mall and where all the monuments are is about $10-13 for up to 4 passengers)
If you need to take the trash out, there is 3 trash compactors on the side service road.
