Brenda and Graham are excellent host. The stay with them was wonderful. They are very welcoming and the place is spacious. But the location is more remote than I expected.

Brenda and her husband are an incredibly cool, warm and welcoming young couple. I had a very relaxing stay in this quiet remote country house. It's a bit more remote and rustic than I realized, without much in the vicinity, but I loved it. There is a Family Dollar very close by where you can get most of what you need -- unless you're looking for fresh ingredients, which does require 30-40 minutes of driving. Virginia Beach is an hour away and awesome. There's also Millpond State Park about 15 minutes away, which has a gorgeous lagoon with cheap canoe rentals, and it's an awesome experience I highly recommend. I ended up in a different room because I need an air conditioner to sleep (during the summer months that constituted my stay), and even though this was my own oversight Brenda graciously switched me to a room with an AC without a second thought. Cute cats are a bonus for me, and Flipa the little black and orange kitty is really cute. She was afraid of me so I didn't get to do much petting, but I still liked seeing her :) All in all, highly recommended!

[To Busy (Spelling Bee) Brenda and (Grammar) Graham ( - two great hosts) and of course your wonderful guests to come] Experiencing the Teacherage from my perspective is more of a conservatory-historical-adoption more than a traveling experience at heart! A thoroughly magnificent and historically rich project on rich land, it is embedded between two NC treasures: the Merchant Millpond State Park and the Great Dismal Swamp National Park (Further discussion on this can be found a few sentences down). It is NEAR 3 hrs. drive from UNC, Chapel Hill, NC where the famous Archibald Wright "Moonlight" Graham, the baseball player went to college in the early 1900s. This was around the same time the story of the Teacherage property and the Academic building [closest to the single room I stayed in] next door began. In a building about 1000 sqft., it was a place where only a small group of students were educated in Agriculture (Ref. the story of the Merchant Millpond for more insight). Archie Graham's father Alexander was a supreme advocate of the school system's in Fayetteville, NC. As we think about the advocacy of great projects, we can see why fighting to preserve and protect national history is so notably consequential (Such passion could be seen in the eyes of the dream of this couple as they shared their rich story after greeting me on the front porch). Like archaeologists contribution to mankind seen through museums, great exhibits and scientific discoveries, we understand that several people have been known throughout history to contribute to just as important conservational projects. In my opinion, if you have the pleasure of experiencing a place like this, and meeting such a nice couple [w/ such a RICH cultural heritage] you will better understand their value! (They are humble, amazing, warm and well-spoken people. Thank you!) Here’s a funny traveling excerpt. You may think you've passed it because the road's journey continues...[The joys of driving on uncharted rural country gives you a dream and wish to discover...]When you see US Hwy 32, you are shortly there by going NORTH. (:

Brenda and Graham are great hosts and wonderful people! They made me feel welcome and safe during my stay at the teacherage. The bedroom is large and perfect for a short to long-term stay, since you are also able to use the kitchen and bathroom.
