A very large self contained contemporary 1 bedroom stone vaulted apartment. It opens out onto our riverside terrace and gardens yet is only a 5 minute walk from most of Hay's facilities. Consisting of two stone vaulted rooms underneath the main section of the house it forms one beautifully atmospheric, self-contained nest. A wonderful large double bedroom and sitting room with kitchenette and bathroom, it's all you need for a private, away-from-it-all, break.
No.4 Bridge Street was built in 1800 and although little is known about the cellars, it is thought that they were originally used for storage of goods for the town when the river was used for transporting supplies to and from the town.
We converted the cellars about 7 years ago to create a unique self contained contemporary space while retaining the original stunning whitewashed stone vaulted ceilings.
Despite being below the main house, the solid construction makes the apartment very quiet and with large glass doors opening onto the patio area it's remarkably light and cool in the summer yet cosy in the winter.
Zugang für Gäste
The apartment is accessed down steps leading from the front door of the main house or via the garden gate which leads to the riverside public footpath and the free car park where we recommend you park (there is no off road parking at the house).
You are welcome to share our lovely riverside garden which we occasionally open as a cafe where we'll be delighted to offer you a complimentary drink.

Weitere wichtige Infos
We're every proud of our apartment but it is a little quirky and may not appeal to everyone so we'd rather be honest and point out it's idiosyncrasies beforehand than for you to be disappointed after you have arrived.
We have no off road parking at the house but there is free parking available only 150 metres away.
There are steps leading down into the garden and the again into the apartment and therefore it is not ideal for anyone with limited mobility.
Although we try to respect your privacy we do live above the apartment and we share the garden. On occasional sunny days during the summer months we may open the gardens to sell tea and cakes from our converted garden shed.
The kitchen facilities are limited and are best suited to snacks and light meals.
