Ideal for young to middle-aged couples. The cabin is located a ten minute walk from the beach up above the village and overlooks the ocean. It includes: one double bed, kitchenette, half bath, and patio for lounging.
The cottage can comfortably accommodate 2 adults. It has electricity, and is equipped with a double gas burner, a toaster oven, a fridge, a coffee grinder, a coffee maker, dishes, pots, pans and kitchen utensils, so it is entirely possible to cook your own meals for the duration of your stay. We will be happy to get you the groceries you desire, subject to availability. If there is a particular food item you can’t live without which might not be found in Yelapa, then we recommend that you bring it with you.
The cottage is about a 10-minute walk up the hill from the beach. It has lovely views of lush foliage and the ocean beyond. Our home is located about 100 feet behind the cabin. We have never had any problems with theft, but please be aware that there is no means of locking up your valuables, so we recommend that you find a good hiding place for them within the hut or take them with you when you are away from the hut.
The bed has a mosquito net over it so that you will not be bothered by mosquitoes while sleeping. Mosquitoes are not that abundant, but there are some, and so in the mornings and evenings you will probably be most comfortable if you have long pants and long-sleeved shirts to wear.
We have a spring on our property, and a purification system, and this purified water is the drinking water we use and which we provide to you. If you are uneasy about this, we can also provide you with bottled water for drinking. The bathroom and kitchen sink have running water from the spring. The shower has hot water now because we recently installed a gas heater.
Sheets, towels and blankets are provided for you. It is warm and lovely in Pizota year-round, but in the winter the nights can be cool. In addition to all the usual things you would take on a trip to Mexico, we recommend that you bring sunscreen, mosquito repellent, a hat, long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, a fleece and a flashlight.

We are happy to be of any help to our guests during their stay in Pizota. In case of an emergency, don't hesitate to give us a yell up at our house at any hour of the night. Our house is roughly 100ft. Away. If given a grocery list within 3 days notice, we can do your shopping.
There is no bank in either Yelapa or Pizota — Puerto Vallarta is where the closest bank is — so do remember to bring enough cash for the time you will be in Pizota. Pizota has one store with a limited inventory, although almost anything can be ordered from the store if you intend to stay for a while.
Adjacent to the store is a restaurant, which serves simple fare but requires advance notice if you are hoping to eat there.
Access to Pizota is by water taxi from the beach pier at Boca de Tomatlán, a village located 10 miles south of Puerto Vallarta. You can reach Boca de Tomatlán by cab, car, or public bus, which leaves Puerto Vallarta’s old town from the intersection of Insurgentes and Basilio Badillo.
Water taxi departures to Pizota from Boca de Tomatlán are 3 times daily at 9:00 am, 3:00 pm, and 5:00pm. Water taxis leave Pizota to return to Boca de Tomatlán at 11:00 am and 5:00 pm. This schedule is in effect every day of the week, year-round. The one-way journey generally takes just under an hour and costs about 80 pesos (US$5.50) one way.
If the ocean is rough, it is possible that you and your belongings will get wet from the spray, so as a precaution, we recommend that you ensure your belongings are in plastic bags inside your luggage, and that anything you are carrying as hand luggage (purses, daypacks) are also lined with plastic, or kept inside a plastic bag. Also bear in mind that the closer you sit to the stern of the water taxi, the less wet you get, as a rule. There is no pier in Pizota, so upon arrival, the water taxi moves as close to the beach as possible, and passengers must use a ladder hung off the bow of the boat to disembark in the shallow water (knee-deep). For this reason, we also recommend that you do not wear full-length pants for the journey, and that you put your footwear in a plastic bag in your luggage after leaving Yelapa. We also strongly recommend that you put your money, passport and other vital documents and credit/debit cards in a Ziploc bag to prevent them from getting wet.
When you arrive in Pizota, ask one of the residents where Mateo and Vanessa live and they will be happy to direct you. Pizota is a small village with no street signs.
