Die Unterkunft
Mi Nido (My Nest) is an open air loft space above Villa Calabaza .
Tranquil beach access is a 3 minute stroll steps from the property, down the cobblestone drive. Beach umbrellas, chairs, towels and a cooler are provided. Sounds and views of the Pacific are mesmerizing; the lush jungly atmosphere of the neighborhood offers abundant flora and fauna. This is the best of indoor/outdoor living for an extra-ordinary Sayulita beach experience. Comfortable furnishings, original paintings and ceramics, most by artist/owner Nanci Closson throughout. There is no construction right now (May 2021). Being open air space and up high, as the North end neighborhood becomes more populated, one can hear more daily hustle, bustle and traffic, notably water trucks during our drought. Sleepy tranquil days for Sayulita are past.
Mi Nido at Villa Calabaza, is located at the far north-end of Sayulita, just off Avenida Palmar (level walking paved beach street), then up the hill on Calle Papagallos. Wifi is usually okay, but not as strong in the North end of Sayulita. ( My Parota listings have higher speed and more reliable internet)
Telmex is now putting in lines for higher speed internet, within 2 months?
Best way to get around from this area is a leisurely 10 minute walk along the beach or Avenida Palmar to restaurants, or town 15 minutes. Rent a golf cart for your stay to hustle back and forth and around the Pueblo parking and exploring with ease. Sayulita has a parking problem, so a car rental can be a hindrance unless you want to visit or surf other areas and travel around during your stay.
Open to the jungle, anticipate possible night visits from neighborhood raccoon families, possums, coatimundis. Rub is the resident cat and Salsa the neighborhood cat.
The shared dipping pool has less water in it until our rainy season starts in July. Much more drought than normal, no city water in the North end. Properties are all trucking in water. Your conservation is well appreciated.

Sayulita, Nayarit, Mexiko

The north end neighborhood near the end of Palmar, pristinely clean, normally tranquil, j ungly with ocean sights and sounds. Lush walking path along an arroyo to wide quiet beach, with pounding waves. As of the new year, there is no nearby construction.

Artist; watercolorist, acrylic painter, ceramicist from Tucson, Arizona. Since moving to Mexico in 1992, I have given up painting for designing and building, landscaping, handmade living spaces, a dream that would not have been possible in the US . Recently moved from San Miguel de Allende, after selling Tres Casitas, vacation rentals there, which were built in 1994. I love mountain, jungle and ocean, so this area near Sayulita is where I am happy to live. Casa Parota, purchased and redesigned, remodeled in 2016, is now a "Tres Casitas" West.
