Entirely surrounded by the nature, beautiful and peaceful. A place to let go and just be. If you can remove thought and simply listen, the sound of nature and at times the actual sound of silence is all you can hear.

Die Unterkunft
The property is about a 50 minute drive from downtown Thunder Bay (including 5 km logging road that leads you to this beautiful cottage the sits on top of the trees surrounded by 160 acres of pure bliss).
This off-grid cottage offers a cozy kitchen loft bedroom and a living room loft bedroom along with a small guest house with two single beds and a wood stove.

A solar system with a backup generator provides power for lighting at the cabin. A well-appointed kitchen includes propane powered fridge and stove, with kitchenware and spices sufficient for your slow cooked, stress free cooking, where you can enjoy the discovery of the wilderness and beauty right in the middle of the woods.

Potable water from a well or a spring is available for your use.
Hot water is available only from boiling water on the stove in the kettle or if the weather is cooler out on the wood stove. Free firewood and propane are also available at cabin and summer kitchen by the pool.

A TV with a DVD and VHS player along with many movies to choose from for those relaxing evenings or rainy days. There are cards and many games and puzzles to occupy those moments of group fun and laughter for your entertainment.

The bathroom consists of an outdoor biffy, for your solids, with the best view of the nature (see pictures). The indoor washroom has a vanity and a foot-flash RV toilet for your night time, liquid only, convenience. (Please no tissue in the foot-flush RV toilet).

There are two saunas on the property, one is by the cottage and another one is by the pool within the common area.
Please note that these saunas are the only places where you can wash up. A proper hot water on demand shower system has recently been installed.
However washing up the old fashioned way consists of lighting the wood stove in the sauna and having that soothing, deep, hot pour opening enjoyment, that all sauna's have to offer.
Or for a quick, (what I like to call, a bird bath) you must gathering hot water boiled on the kitchen stove and with water containers for you in the sauna room, you must get your cold shower water from the tap in the sauna change room. You can wash up in the sauna room. You will be able to mix your water to your preferred temperature and then add it to a shower bucket with holes in the bottom of it to simulate an actual shower.
The shower setting is less sophisticated than a city shower due to no running water in the sauna room. However it is very rustic and is much a part of the off grid living that is purely a joy to be a part of.

Having only solar power for lights, wood stove for heat and gravity fed running water makes you appreciate what we all take for granted living in the comforts and conveniences of the city. Its truly the little things that matter most.

A large outdoor pool, surrounded by a wide wooden deck, filled with natural spring water, is a great place to relax and swim right beside the second sauna, fire pit, horseshoe pits and summer kitchen, (which includes a propane cook stove, BBQ and kitchenware). The pool, horseshoe pits and summer kitchen are within a common area.

This common area is completely separate from the cottage. Keeping the cottage as a peaceful, private place for you to relax and enjoy.

If you are looking for an oasis, accessible by car, this is it!

Your groceries are all you need for this adventure. The nearest grocery store is in the Thunder Bay. It is best to stop and pick up food before you venture out here. There is a small convenience store and LCBO (beer and liquor store) nearby, but it closes at 6pm during summer hours.

Your remarkable stay will provide a lifetime of memories.

Während deines Aufenthaltes
There is a log cabin on the property I will most likely be staying in. Walking distance but totally separate from the house on the cliff that you will be residing in.

If I am not on the property I am available via texting, email and phone calls.

When I am on the property I can receive texts, emails and Airbnb messages as well but those means of communication are limited to certain areas of the property.

Cell service is limited here at the cottage, however there is a cell signal booster which works well with most service providers for the guests.
