More than just a place to sleep! Karenville is silly, fun and off the grid! A unique country experience. Enjoy relaxing in your own private tiny "Home" in a playful and artsy Victorian Village built totally by Karen. There's lots to see and do in Karenville.
Most of my Karenville sites (except My Cabin and the Hotel which have heat) are now closed for the winter until sometime in April. However if the weather is unusually nice and/or you are feeling especially hardy contact me and I can open a site (tiny home) for you. Please feel free to browse through the Karenville sites below and to make future plans and dreams. Thankyou Karen

This tiny "home" resides on the edge of my tiny "village" I call Karenville. I like building (It's my weekend hobby). I built all the buildings in Karenville for my own pleasure.
I transformed this tiny "home", soon to be yours for a night, from something else. It's a wonderful living space that feels like home. I use it as a part time art studio. It has a small sink and counter, and sitting space. The bed is very firm and is made and ready for one or two persons. It is a twin size bed and possibly a bit short for some. It can sleep one person comfortably or two if you like to snuggle.
I built my tiny village of Karenville one building at a time. There is a cafe/store, (where you can cook if you like. So bring some food.) a church, a glass house, a hotel, two outdoor showers, an interesting and cute composting toilet and so much more. Most of the buildings have an architectural look of the Victorian years.
It is near to impossible to describe Karenville. All the time I hear my guests say "There is no way I will be able to explain all this" and it is true! Don't bother asking me a lot of questions, just come and experience for yourself living back in time before electric lights and running water. You will be surprised how easy and freeing it can be! I have been living this way, electric free, for over twenty years!
Your to be "home" is located on the edge of Karenville and overlooks a meadow full of wild grasses and the hills and valley beyond.
Guests who enjoy themselves most, book more than one night. This site, or "home" is often used as an Art Studio for everyone in the village when it is not already booked. Therefore I prefer to book it for more than one day or when everything else is already booked. Please, for your enjoyment and ours, consider booking more than one night when possible. To further encourage multiple nights I have added a one time check in fee of $15 (Airbnb calls it a cleaning fee). What I hear most from my guests is, " I wish I could stay longer in this magical place".

Zugang für Gäste
You will have the entire village to relax, use, and enjoy. This inclures the "cafe/store" where you can make coffee or cook a delicious meal, the glass house which is a warm place to go, the pavilion which is a nice relaxing place to sit, our two shower houses, and more. It is also likely there will be other guests in the village to socialize with as well. And of-course we are always in the village somewhere doing something, maybe sitting by a campfire and cooking or maybe feeding the goats and chickens. Whatever we happen to be doing you are always welcome to join us.
Interaktion mit Gästen
You may have as much privacy as you wish or you can join us, and sometimes other guests, at a camp fire or eating or sitting and chatting or anything else we might be doing. Usually we will be around somewhere if you need anything or want to chat about Karenville, or anything else for that matter.

Dogs? - Because of our animals who are afraid of wild dog like creatures (foxes and coyotes) I no longer allow any dogs in Karenville.
Smoking? - I allow smoking, however no smoking in or around any of the buildings. Please do not throw cigaret butts on ground. Please dispose of properly.
Have a wonderful time at Karenville and leave smiling.
I am a fun and sometimes silly person. But most of all I have a strong connection to the wild things around me. My partner Robert is a plant and insect expert, and also enjoys the same. I especially like the simple things in life. Some of my favorite things to do is, hiking with our two goats, building or painting something, contra dancing, riding my vintage bicycle, showering under the rain spout, cooking over an open fire, having a great adventure, gardening and hanging around home doing the things we do. Things I do not enjoy are sports, shopping, fashion, and watching tv. But sure love my goats, oh yes and Robert too.
I built Karenville for my own enjoyment and pleasure. But then I wasn't sure what to do with all these silly buildings. Someone said I should put it on Airbnb. Without electric or running water I was quite sure no one would come. Wow! was I ever surprised. And now, suddenly, I'm paying County and State taxes.
My future hope for Karenville is that it may amuse and stimulate a new way of thinking and feeling for everyone who visits. And that all who visit K-ville leave with smiles on their faces.
Come experience the magic in Karenville !
