Retreat to your own private paradise directly on the shore of Lake Nottely with two separate cabins. Wake up to some early morning fishing on the dock while watching the sunrise and roast s'mores round the campfire while the sun dips back down again. !! Note that we have BIG discounts for weekly and monthly stays !!

Der Wohnraum

There are two separate cabins. One of them has a queen sized bed (it can fold up like a futon but it is a real inner spring mattress) with a 1/2 bathroom and a small kitchenette. The other cabin is made up of a down stairs with two twin beds and a couch and a loft upstairs with a queen bed and a twin bed. Along with the beds this cabin also contains a full bathroom with indoor shower, sink and toilet. After a fun filled day when it is time to shower you can also enjoy the view of the lake or some star gazing while you bathe in the outdoor shower no matter the weather.

Both cabins have air conditioning - the two level cabin has separate units on each floor to keep everyone nice and cool.

These are rustic cabins not the Ritz Carlton, but being only 90 minutes from Atlanta makes they make the perfect escape from the busy life in the city to the relaxing North Georgia mountains on Lake Nottely.

With lake front access enjoy a vacation full of swimming, kayaking, fishing, and tanning. We offer a dock, fishing poles, and kayak with life jackets for your use during the duration of your stay.

At your convenience we have bedding available. We also have a washer and dryer for days when your kids have too much fun playing in the huge sandbox located right out side the cabins.

Plan ahead to have a big cookout with the grill. Right outside one of the cabins there is a spacious screened in porch to keep the mosquitoes and other critters out so you can have pleasant meals or a place to relax without something buzzing around your head. Inside the main cabin is a large "toaster oven", a refrigerator and a small microwave. The rest of the cooking is done outside on the screen porch or on the deck. *Please note that dishes are also stored in this screened area and are used for outdoor cooking. Pots, pans ect may have a rustic look to them for that reason. No super soap will take this look away. We clean them and you are also welcome to.*

One of the favorite places to take a nap or read is the hammock right down by the water that has a great view of the calm lake and misty mountains.

You are welcome to being a boat if you have one. There is a boat launch nearby for your convenience. If you are a big skier you might never find calmer water than on this lake.

Every time the family takes a trip up to Camp Buck Snort, nobody ever wants to leave. They greatly enjoy it and always beg to stay another day. In fact my wife and I love the lake so much we named our daughter after it!

Two fire pits. A grill, fridge, microwave, toaster, and stove (stove is on the screened porch). Griddle, pots, pans, deep fryer, pressure cooker, coffee maker, tea kettle, small oven, freezer, ice trays, dishes, silver ware. A big sand box and an outdoor shower. The motor boats in the photos are NOT INCLUDED but you are welcome to bring your own and tie it up to the dock. There is a public boat launch only a couple of miles away. There is a kayak, a canoe, and several different size life jackets for your use INCLUDED. Take them out and go explore the beautiful lake.

You will most likely not see us during your stay. There is a lock box with a key inside that I will provide you with the code before your arrival. We have close friends who live two doors down that you can contact if there are any problems I can not deal with over the phone.

If you want your kids to sit on their butts all day in front of the TV or on the wifi then this is NOT the place for you! This place is for creating fun memories, not for couch potatoes addicted to their electronic devices. Most cell phones and mobile data services seem to work but we have made a conscious decision to avoid too much media so that our kids can break away from these distractions when we visit the camp.

Please bring extra life jackets if you plan to swim in the lake. We only have a few for users of the kayak or canoe.

The property has a great Hot Springs brand hot tub that you may use at your option by arranging in advance to have it filled and turned on, heated, and then drained after you leave. This cost for this option is only $50 extra.

Note that Lake Nottely lowers the water level in the fall and brings it back up in the spring. Our house is on deep water and has a nice shore all winter, but the dock must be moved out as the water drops and exposes more of the shoreline. If you plan to fish, you may want to consider getting a fishing license at the local Wal-Mart.

We do not live in the area but we have a local husband and wife team who help us manage the property and a neighbor who looks after the place.

Weitere wichtige Infos

Important Winter Note - Camp Buck Snort is a great place in the cold season but you must understand that the cabins are heated with electric space heaters and may take a while to warm up. Also, the deck with the stove and cooking area is on the screened in porch in an unheated area. One cabin has a half bath and the other a full. We also have added very private OUTDOORS full bath. We love this and thing that having the hot water steaming down on you even when it's snowing can be a fantastic experience, but it's not for everybody.

Before guests arrive in the winter, we hire a person to "de-winterize" the cabins and then "re-winterize" it after you leave, draining the pipes and putting antifreeze in the toilets and drains. For this reason, the "cleaning fee" is higher in the winter months. If the temperature is below freezing (32 F, 0 C) please leave the faucets, shower, and hose spigots dripping to prevent freezing pipes while you are there. For bookings November through February you will receive an extra payment request for $100 to cover the cost of the dewinterizing and rewinterizing the place.

Reminder - the hot tub is optional and carries a higher fee of $50 so that we can have our local contact go fill it up and make sure it's warm when you get there. He also drains it after you leave. Please let us know if you want to use the hot tub and we will send a payment request through Airbnb.

During the winter months, we normally winterize the cabins and drain all the water from the pipes. We do accept guests during this time however we must have the water turned back on, checked for leaks, and then drained after your stay. We charge an additional $100 to cover the costs of the handyman to come out and perform the services. This would normally be from mid-November through mid-February. This cost also covers any service calls while you are there for frozen water pipe repair.

Note that we have BIG discounts for weekly or monthly stays!!

Treat our home like you'd treat your own (assuming you treat your home well!). You may use the dock for your boat but be sure to bring your own ropes, lines, etc. You are welcome to use anything in the pantry, but please replace what you use.

Please make yourself at home but we expect that you clean up after yourself , and that you leave the cabin the way you left it. PLEASE LEAVE THE GRIDDLE OILED AFTER USE TO PREVENT RUST!! Please also try not to leave stuff out that you used (All of this is not included in the cleaning fee!!). Most of all though, ENJOY YOUR VISIT!!

The hot tub is optional and requires a service call from our local handyman to fill it with water, service it and warm up the water before you arrive. The cost for this extra service is $50.

The lake front cabin is a great place for a little vacation to get away from it all. There is a Wal-mart nearby so you can pick up groceries to make dinners, but once you don't that, you don't even have to leave. We booked this at the last minute (day before) to flee from Hurricane Irma with our four animals. There was enough room for us all and my dogs loved having room to run around. The lake is awesome and going out on the kayak was a lot of fun. We did campfires every night and enjoyed a lot of time on the screened in deck. Downtown Blairsville is a short drive away and is a neat little area with lots of shops and restaurants.

Great place to stay and enjoy outdoor living. We white water rafted and zip lined in Tennessee, hiked in North Carolina and did waterfalls in Georgia! Helton Falls was a blast.... Cold but really fun. If kayaking, bomb fires, and swimming are your thing.... Camp Bucksnort is a 10 out of 10! Thanks for sharing your place.

Great stay. GORGEOUS LAKE. Philip's place is just as described. We loved the outdoor shower, the porch, the jacuzzi, and the beautiful lakefront view. We spent two days on excursions (liking to waterfalls and White Water rafting). Both were 40-60 minutes away! We spent one day on the lake in a rented pontoon with a pull behind Tube! The marina was literally 5 minutes from the cabin, and the rental was well worth it! We spent our last day sunning on the pier and swimming in the lake! Lazy summer day and perfect ending to our trip!

Very nice little cabins. The outdoor shower was enjoyed every day of our stay, even in the rain! Big plus for having washer/dryer. A great place for those whole love to fish. Also, the stars were incredible to look at from the dock! So big and bright! You can't really get that in the city. Philip was easy to communicate with as so was his contact that lives near the lake. A place you must check out!

We love to travel and stay in fun places. Travelling around the world, we have stayed on moored boats, in hostels, rented apartments, ferry boats, and have camped in too many different ways to mention. Often, we bring along one or more of our children who are also well travelled,…
