Looking to escape the cares of everyday life? Our cabin is the perfect place. Stay inside and enjoy the stone fireplace, a good book, and the updated kitchen; go outside and roast marshmallows over the fire pit or try hiking, golf, or boating nearby.
Only an hour from Columbus, we frequently use the cabin as a getaway ourselves and find that our stress simply disappears upon arrival. The house is built around the large, stone fireplace and has all brand-new appliances in the kitchen. The screened-in porch overlooks the wooded yard and provides privacy and seclusion. There are two bedrooms on the main floor and a large loft upstairs. We have two queen-sized beds, a twin bed, and a big comfortable couch.
Zugang für Gäste
Guests will have access to the first floor, which includes: two bedrooms (one twin bed and one queen-sized bed), the comfortable living room, the full bathroom, and the well-equipped kitchen. Guests will also have access to the queen-sized bed in the upstairs loft (which is accessed by a real staircase, not a ladder), the spacious front deck, and the secluded screened-in porch, along with all the outside spaces (including the fire pit). An additional guest could easily sleep on the big, comfortable couch in the living room. We're currently renovating the basement, so the bottom floor will be locked during your stay.
Interaktion mit Gästen
We live in Cincinnati, so we won't interact directly, but I'll be readily available by phone and email. I will send more information, including details for the lock box to access the house, before your arrival.
Weitere wichtige Infos
We have two border collies who frequently join us at the cabin. No matter how much cleaning we do, there is sure to be some dog hair in the house, so if you have dog allergies this is probably not the place for you. Your dog is permitted during your stay, but no cats.
This is an old log cabin. Some things (like the kitchen appliances) have been updated, but other things (like old shower fixtures) have not been updated. If you're looking for modern, five-star accommodations this is not the place for you. The cabin is a bit rustic, with a lot of character and charm.
You're welcome to use the charcoal grill on the screened-in porch, but please plan to bring your own charcoal.
The kitchen is well-equipped with tableware, drinkware, and cookware. You're welcome to use any of it, but please plan to bring your own food.
You're welcome to use both the inside fireplace and outside fire pit. An ample supply of wood is provided.
Note: there is no TV or internet at the cabin. We use it to escape from all of that, but if you need to check in, we've found that our phones have excellent service for both voice and data while there (we use Verizon and AT&T).
The Virtues Golf Club, a world-class golf course, is less than ten minutes away. Our cabin is the perfect place to stay for your weekend on the course.
Other nearby amenities include: hiking trails at Blackhand Gorge State Nature Reserve, Dawes Arboretum, and Dillon Lake State Park (including boating, fishing, mountain biking, etc.)
- Be respectful of our cabin and possessions
- Clean up after yourself
- No smoking inside the cabin
- Feel free to bring your dog, but not your cat (We both have cat allergies)
My husband, Rob, and I are a young professional couple living in suburban Cincinnati. We're very low-key guests and we have a great cabin for quiet getaway weekends. We're happy to share the cabin since it sits empty most of the time.
We like to stay busy and enjoy house projects, spending time with friends and family, and hanging out in the yard with our two Border Collies.
