A serene cottage located in the heart of the Rouge Valley national park, This tiny home is "off-grid" and allows you to disconnect from the daily grind. Just 30 mins from downtown Toronto, this cozy all season getaway is located near many picturesque trails all in the urban park. There is also an outdoor fire pit, BBQ, wood stove, and a small batheroom with composting toilet to complete your glamping experience.

Die Unterkunft
This cabin in the city or the " The woodland portal" is Custom-built and designed by Redriverdesigns, and it is made to be a relaxing and tranquil experience. The large circle window will provide a great nature escape while being cozy.

The cottage is off-grid but offers a foot pump sink, freshwater and a special composting toilet. There is no refrigerator or running water or power.

kindling and necessary supplies are provided for the wood stove as well as outdoors. The fire pit is in the rear of the space.

Things included for your courtsey
Cooking and eating utensils: Forks, butter knife, spoons, spatula, cooking pot, frying pan, kettle, french press, two plates, two bowls, bottle opener, can opener, toilet paper, bbq, complimentary indoor firewood, outdoor firewood (can be purchased at the house), clean sheets, four pillows, water jug for drinking, snowshoes rental for $40 (in winter) , first aid kit is under the bed, fire extinguisher is on the right side of the bed, drinking water is jug with spout, soap is attached to the sink, washing basin is under the counter.

Summer update! A battery fan is now available, you can put it in the window for a faster cool down at night! A screened in outdoor space is available to eat and relax in, no fires or smoking allowed within it.

What to bring:
You may consider bringing extra sheets especially if you are bringing a dog, food, hiking boots/sneakers, camping gear flashlight, matches or lighter, a cooler for keeping your food cold.

Due to the ongoing covid 19 crisis we ask our guests to empty there urine from the composting toilet and take off the sheets and put it in a bag that’s underneath the bed

This tiny home is *off-grid* and allows you to disconnect from the hustle and bustle. There is no power to the cabin, and there is no way to charge electronics, so please consider this before your stay. There are battery and solar lights. There is a wood stove for simple cooking and heating - you must self light and start the fire and put it out when done (instructions and materials are provided-help can be given if needed). Kitchen utensils, coffee press, and dishes are provided.
Please note: There is no shower/bath at this time (sorry for any inconvenience this may cause).

The rouge park is large and beautiful, and you can spend days exploring it, there are trails marked with some secret gems I have outlined in the map in the cabin! Outside of the park, there are fantastic food choices, as well.
