Walk into an issue of Better Homes and Gardens. Not so typical London terrace - an architect's touch throughout. In the heart of the emerging buzz of Homerton, our place will appeal to the adventurous, independent and well travelled.
A welcoming, creative and eclectic space with an attention to detail and craft. Featured on the site: Houzz (search east london eclectic for more detail). Unlimited wifi, soaker tub and walk in shower, lovely garden, proper coffee and free parking on the street. You'll be making your own breakfast (that way you can sleep until you want to), but it's all here for you.
Ideal if you would like to be near Hackney Central and a great base to explore the rest of London.
This room has one double room with queen bed (can be made into 2 singles if you prefer) within a bright and spacious house and garden with a sense of calm.
We also have a second room to let. If you want to take both rooms, please book this listing AND my other listing. If you can't see it for your time, then it probably means one of the rooms is booked out, but drop me a line to find out more details.
We live in a safe and easily accessible area. Less than 10 minutes walk from the Overland train (Homerton station) which operates every 8-10 minutes (40 minutes to Oxford Circus, door to door; 5 minutes to Westfield/Stratford; 8 minutes to Highbury Islington). And 24 hr transport with the 242 bus.
Close to trendy cafes, food and craft markets (Broadway market, Columbia Road, Ridley Road, Chatsworth Road markets), Dalston and the Hackney Wick art scene. Very close to an extensive network of canals and parks.
We have some really fabulous restaurants and real ale all within an easy distance. If you like to cook, we have the BEST (ever!) butcher, fish monger and wine merchant as our locals - with a kitchen you can use that can stand up to the test of the most creative chefs going.
We don't have a TV but a nice sound system in its place. Thoughtfully decorated; house is non smoking and we have a cat.
Weekly cleaning/linen change is included. If wanting more than weekly, can discuss costs.

Kitchen for making meals, garden for fresh air (or smoke), bathroom and your room - and wifi of course. Other amenities by invitation. Generally, however, we would prefer that you are not just hanging around the house all day, as we work from home.
Interaktion mit Gästen
We like to know what's going on. That you are happy and safe. If the vibe is right we hope to share a meal, a visit to the pub or some such invitation. We won't make you though.
Weitere wichtige Infos
For those staying for longer term, we expect that you will be pretty independent and look after your own food, etc. Also, we will need to work out bathroom schedules, general house-keeping guidelines and such.
Parking requires a resident's permit. This charged at cost to you. Please ask us about parking and we'll let you know the associated costs.
We don't smoke - occasional smokers are welcome and if you do smoke, use the ashtray in the back garden and don't smoke out front of the house.
Normally we don't expect visitors of guests to be at the house after eleven pm, if you want to have visitors later, please arrange this with me beforehand. Being out and arriving home at your leisure is fine though - we don't have curfews. And we aren't bothered about what time you decide to get up. Help yourself to breakfast when it suits you.
As there are open stairs (no railings), please do keep your wits about you. (I should mention, it's not a child-friendly house). And please bear in mind it's a shared bathroom.
Otherwise we are very flexible and I hope that people treat my home like they would their own home.

I co-host with my partner, Lawrence, and our cat, Wiggy (who you will find is very much part of the hospitality team!).
We are a Canadian couple (architect and business consultant) who've lived in east London for nearly 20 years. We make an effort to find the cool little places not mentioned in the guidebooks and know our area very well even as it changes shape. We understand London has a lot to offer but we also believe you will appreciate a chilled arrival home to some tranquility to recharge those batteries for the next day's adventures.
We are well traveled and appreciate unique and boutique places to stay which reflect a keen eye for quality and detail. We have endeavoured to mirror that in our home - not so much about 5-star checklist but the 6-star love factor.
We like good company and are interested in where our guests come from and why they are with us. Often these conversations are helped along with food and wine, and so we often are hosting dinners and soirees with our friends and guests, either at our house or at one of our favourite locals. These tend to be the most memorable souvenirs we have of our experience as hosts. Those who also treasure that type of interaction are likely to be the sort of people that enjoy their stay with us.
We look forward to meeting you!
