Pros: Really GOOD location. Walking distance to the heart of Ximending shopping district and MRT station, with 7Eleven's and restaurants/food places nearby. The apartment is clean and well maintained, true to the pictures. The bedrooms are--although not too spacious--quite cozy and comfortable. King size beds in the 2 rooms can easily sleep 4 (although I only booked for 3). The host provided light toilettries like soaps and shampoo, and basic amenities like towels and tissues. Hot water run at all times and perfectly. We were met by someone who I assumed is the host's property manager, and he was very helpful and explained thoroughly about the property and surrounding area (in limited English though).
Cons: Had a quite confusing experience in the beginning of the booking since we were switched to another apartment (not the one we initially booked). Make sure you are clear which unit you'd be booked into-- I had an impression that the units do not have the same sizes/ beds. But to be fair, it was during high season (during chinese lunar new year) and the host was quite responsive, so just ensure that you communicate clearly and openly in the beginning. Although amenities like towels and tissues are provided, the host must have left out utensils like spoons in the kitchen so I had to buy plastic spoons when we had to eat in. The wifi speed was unbearably slow, good thing we bought SIM card with unlimited 4G data at the airport (you should consider getting this too, real good value).
Summary: I recommend staying in this unit; overall really value for money. Aside from minor inconveniences regarding the booking, utensils and wifi speed, we had a very good experience staying here. If you want a city getaway with lots of shopping and late-night snacking in the heart of Taipei, this is really not a bad place to stay.
