The guests cancelled on Saturday the weekend before the Fourth of July. We even allowed them to check in early. Our rate was $125/night which is comparable lodging in the area for that weekend. Our summer rate is not $180 as he claims.
Despite our strict cancellation policy, we provided them a partial refund. We took a financial loss due to their cancelled reservation and the condo remained empty for the rest of the holiday weekend. We also spent Saturday afternoon to go evaluate the condo condition for ourselves.
It appears that the guests did not study the listing location, house rules, and cancellation policy. The condo is located in the Town of Vail in the residential neighborhood of East Vail. Although the listing is not in the village core of the Town Center, Pitkin Creek Park Condos is located in a desirable neighborhood. The amenities listed in the property description are accurate.
My wife and I were there the day before and performed a follow up cleaning after our housekeeper and stocked the condo with extra supplies. We believe that our unit was cleaned to our standards. We were aware of construction in our building that may have attributed to dust and odor outside of our unit.
We don't believe that their stay is representative of the positive experiences that our other guests have had. It is unfortunate that this guests expectations were not met, and they left disappointed.
