1. Upon receiving the booking request from Mdm Farhanah, I accepted it. Then when Mdm Farhanah requested me to cancel the booking with Airbnb on her behalf, I told her to contact Airbnb herself, as it is not right for me, the host, to cancel the booking, when it wasn't my intention to cancel it in the first place. Thus I provided her with the phone number. I didn't want Airbnb to misunderstand that they got me a deal, and then I persuaded the guest to cancel it, so that I could go direct booking with the guest. 4. Cleaning fee in the Airbnb contract is referrring to the cleaning prior to the guests' checking in, not during the term of their stay. 5. I apologise if Auntie Julie appeared rude to Mdm Farhanah. Perhaps she was appalled when she saw all the lights and air-cons being left running t full blast, even though there was no one around. So she was suggesting that the guests be eco-conscious, as we are an eco-friendly b&b. It doesn't mean that because you've paid for something, therefore you have the right to waste it. Coming from a 1st world nation like Singapore ourselves, I believe our government has always inculcated the belief in Singaporeans: waste not, want not. 6. I apologise if Auntie Julie appeared more often to Mdm Farhanah's discomfort. This is because Mdm Farhanah had given conflicting instructions. At first, she insisted on additional housekeeping, including in all the 5 rooms, but was worried about her belongings in the rooms. She wanted the extra cleaning to be done, but she didn't want to see Auntie Julie's face while the cleaning was being carried out, but then, she worried about her belongings. So...when Mdm Farhanah (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) me i was bringing guests around in Tokyo, I tried my best to accommodate her demands. Including ringing up my plumber on Chinese New Year's Eve to run back to the b&b to explain the water pressure. 8. The water pressure in the 4 rooms on level 2 is lower, thus the slower rate of water flowing out. But this is a common occurrence throughout JB, not unique to Eco B&B. And not extreme to the point that people would have trouble taking a shower, otherwise, I'd have received tonnes of complaints regarding water flow by now. And when Mdm Farhanah demanded for an instant solution, I had to persuade my plumber to rush back. But I was told that they were out for dinner, and unsure what time they would return. So I told my plumber to return to his hometown for the holidays. 9. Airbnb's layout is very simple and straightforward. It is shown clearly under the Amenities, that we don't have a TV, and the assumption that there would be, is just that: Mdm Farhanah's own assumption. 10. Thickness of mattresses and pillows is a subjective issue. So far, Mdm Farhanah is the 1st group to complain about this. Even so, if that had been communicated to us, we would have tried our best to comply, like providing more pillows, even if that means running out to buy or borrow. To us at Eco B&B, the guests' comfort is top priority. That's why we provide little touches here and there to make one's stay more homey and comfy. Like complimentary unlimited beverages: Milo, coffee, tea, Nestum; a reading lamp and a bedside lamp in addition to overhead lighting; a hairdryer in every room; double filtered, boiled and cooled drinking water in every room; hi-speed wifi throughout the house and even on the porch. What Mdm Farhanah didn't mention here is: a. her guests were very noisy and inconsiderate. They moved almost all the beds and furniture, indoors and outdoors. The metal frame in Ballad was bent and damaged as the bed was pushed too close to the wall. There were scratches on the walls in other rooms as well. b. To park all the 5 cars within the porch, they shifted all the porch furniture, and one of the cars was driven all the way into the garden, trampling on many of the plants that we had so painstakingly been nurturing. c. When they checked out, they left the whole house in a big mess, with all the furniture in the wrong places. They also left the air-cons running. We've hosted so many whole house bookings before, including weddings, where the number of visitors is easily 50 to 100, but we've never had such a messy, inconsiderate, demanding, unreasonable group. It's disheartening to work so hard to maintain a clean and cozy environment for your guests, only to have that all wiped out by inconsiderate behaviour and caustic remarks. As fellow Singaporeans, i'm embarrassed to have to pen this review to rebutt her.

Thank you so much for your feedback, Raymond, because every review helps us to be more tuned in to the needs of our guests, and thus, improve. We are glad that you enjoyed the overall experience with us, but we are sorry to hear that the towels gave you some green lint...that's not what we had in mind when we say 'go green'. In line with our aim of going local to reduce carbon footprint, we purchased these mid-priced, made-in-Malaysia towels from Aeon. Before buying them in bulk, we had bought 1 piece in another colour - coral - which we tested to be perfectly fine. As it turns out, not every piece of towel that we bulk-purchased has this problem. Feeling bewildered, we checked with the store, and the advice was to put the towels a few more rounds in the washing machine which would take care of the linting. As for the TV, we have decided not to offer that as part of our amenities, as we encourage our guests to practise 'undoing', since most of us are city dwellers who are forever caught up with our to-do lists and hi-tech gadgets. Hence we had to rent a TV to you. We seek your understanding in this matter. We sincerely hope that we can serve you soon in your next staycation in JB!
