Dalhousie Cottage is very wonderful please to my family. My family stayed for 12 days. Dalhousie Cottage has beautiful backyard. There is fresh wind, sunshine and shade. Dalhousie avenue is clean and quite, Neighborhood is silent and kind. I was able to go to Niagara falls and many Winery in about 20 minutes. Jennifer is very good person. She is gentle and graceful. Her help was very good for me. If I send the text, She is going to reply to my text right away. If I go to Canada again, I want to go to Dalhousie Cottage.

A very lovely little cottage type home, the house is very well kept and the kitchen in well stocked. The back yard is lovely and would be great to sit in and look at; however, all the black berries falling constantly from the bush crawling up the neighbour's spruce tree make the sitting area very messy and unappealing to sit in.

Thank you for your review Suzanne. I am pleased you liked the house and felt it was comfortable. I am sorry that you did not find the same comfort in the backyard as other guests have. Unfortunately there are 1-2 weeks a summer when the mulberry tree drops berries onto the arboured eating area. It is our neighbour's tree so have been careful when cutting it back but we do need to do a more aggressive prune to avoid this in future. It us unfortunate that you did not choose to sit back away from the tree to enjoy the rest of the big mulberry-free yard but I can understand that seeing them in the patio area might make crossing that thresehold unappealing. Thank you again for your feedback, it will be utilized to help the comfort of future guests.

Jennifer communicated efficiently and provided a helpful introductory letter and information package. Her cottage is lovely with a beautiful backyard. It is well equipped, and the location is great. The stairs leading up to the bedrooms are quite steep, and you do have to be mindful of your head in a couple of places; for example, when exiting the laundry room or getting up from the toilet in the bathroom as it is situated in a little cubby of sorts. Overall, it is a charming place to visit but not ideal for anyone with mobility issues or someone big/tall.

We enjoyed our stay at Dalhousie Cottage very much. The house was nicely decorated, the back yard was beautifully done with trees and flower gardens and lots of birds. Everything was well prepared for us and the place was well equipped with everything we needed. The location of the cottage within Port Dalhousie is very good. It is a short walk to Lakeside Park, the coffee shop, restaurants and the "Harbour walkway trail". The location of Port Dalhousie itself was perfect for us as well. We were planning on doing some hiking and also visiting some Niagara region attractions and we ended up visiting Short Hills provincial park (highly recommend the black walnut trail), Louth falls (very nice trail and falls), Niagara Glen Nature reserve (very nice as well and right on the Niagara gorge). We also visited the Butterfly conservatory and Niagara on the lake and Niagara falls and the Floral Showcase botanical gardens there. All of these things were a half hour or less drive from Port Dalhousie and I know from previous experience in the area that there are lots of other hiking trails/waterfalls and attractions including a lot of wineries in the area. Our host Jennifer was helpful and nice as well.

In early May we spent a wonderful week in St. Catharines. We stayed in the Dalhousie Cottage. This is a big, very clean and cozy house with a lovely garden! It is well equipped and comfortable to stay with children. Cottage is close to the lake in a beautiful quiet area. There are some good restaurants near the house. We especially liked Rozie's Breakfast Cafe and Murphy's Restaurant. Jennifer is an excellent hostess! She is very friendly and welcoming. Jennifer gave us a lot of information and tips about our stay in St. Catharines. She was always ready to answer all our questions. Thank you, Jennifer! We will definitely return!

My sister Deb and I own Dalhousie Cottage in the Port Dalhousie neighbourhood of St. Catharines, Ontario. It is a beautiful and special area with lots to do. It is close to Niagara Falls, very near many fine wineries, and just over an hour from Toronto. I love to travel myself and have stayed in vacation rentals so I try to give my guest the same experiences that I would want to have. I have a multi-year history with a previous rental and often had guests return. I hope you will come and want to return too!
