This room has a view out on the old pine tree looking west for lovely sunsets and you can hear the pair of Great Horned Owls that fly in from the Twenty Valley at dusk. This is a small room with a queen bed. The mattress is soft but firm, (my favourite in the house.) The Night Owl Room's bed is very firm as a contrast. Pretty black-out curtains mean you will have to turn on the alarm clock or you will sleep the day away!

Die Unterkunft
There is an IKEA chair that turns into a comfortable single bed for an additional $35.00. It also has a desk, chairs, closet and luggage rack.

It has wall to wall carpeting that is not new but I do my best to keep clean.

It's the warmest room in the winter and the coolest in the summer (re being closest to the furnace and the central airconditioning unit.) I also have a fan and portable heater depending upon the season. The windows open for fresh air.

The main bathroom is either Private or Shared depending upon whether anyone else has booked the Night Owl Room. It is on the same floor aways, across the landing.

We have 2 more bedrooms that will accommodate 5 more people: The Escarpment Room and the Night Owl Room.

Zugang für Gäste
We have a sunroom/dining room on the main floor that you are welcome to hang out in. There is a french hall door you can close for privacy and quiet. This room has couches, comfortable chairs, lamps, a TV, radio, piano, djembe and conga drums and percussion instruments...you can start your own little band! You are welcome to use the dining room table to play board games or cards. // The rest of the house is either other guest rooms or our private living areas.

Weitere wichtige Hinweise
There are different bike routes and bike maps to take you through the countryside visiting wineries and parks. And the Greater Niagara Circle Route and the Welland Canal Parkway allow you to bike away from traffic.

We are only 20 minutes away from Niagara Falls and a stunning hike in the Niagara Glen. This is where Niagara Falls fell 8,000 years ago before it continued on its path of eroding the gorge. Imagine flipping a switch that shut off the falls, and then waving a magic wand to add trees, ferns, wildflowers to the dramatic landscape. You can hike through the ancient plunge pools and see potholes and discover ant lions, tulip trees and rare ferns such as the walking fern. I own a company called Niagara Nature, Wine & Garden Tours so could guide you if you wanted a naturalist along!

I have books and maps to lend you and itineraries I've made up that will enhance your visit and lead you on some special adventures!

We are in the Twenty Valley and the Niagara Escarpment, a UNESCO World Heritage Site is a 2 minute drive away. The Bruce Trail, Canada's longest and oldest continuous footpath runs along the edge of the escarpment. I am willing to drive hikers to the start of their hike so that they can hike to their car and drive back at the end of the day.

Twenty minutes from Niagara Falls and 2 minutes from the Village of Jordan. With more wineries in this area than any other part of Canada.

We are on the Twenty Mile Creek and there is a bike, canoe, kayak and even a dragon boat rental marina just down the road by the strawberry farm. You could paddle to Harbour Estates Winery, dock and then follow the wooden carvings, guiding you along the path to their winery!

I'm a naturalist, environmentalist type who loves organic gardening, music, dancing, hiking, swimming with my doggy Cedar and writing my nature column. Before I founded Niagara Nature Tours 16 years ago, I worked at Agriculture Canada in Ornamental Entomology. Worked there for 14 years at Vineland Research Station before I was downsized. I care passionately about the Niagara Peninsula and it's agricultural lands, green spaces and history. My Niagara Nature Tours offers Wine, Garden, History, Agriculture and Nature Tours and Hikes. Custom made, just for you or your group!

Während deines Aufenthaltes
This is my home so I am here to welcome my guests and to interact as much or as little as they would like me to. You just have to let me know which, since I won't know unless you tell me : ) // When you arrive I would like to explain the boundaries of our acre so that you can enjoy our property and then show you around the house so you can make yourselves at home.

After breakfast if you would like, I have a map of the whole Niagara Region and can do a 10 minute talk about the geology, history, agriculture and Carolinian Canada etc, so you will understand about the Niagara Escarpment and how Niagara Falls was formed. You'll then understand why we have a moderated climate which gives us the Tender Fruit Belt.
