Surround yourself in glorious Devon countryside.
At the bottom of a peaceful South Devon valley lies the historic King William Cottage, named after Prince William of Orange who dined here on his journey from Brixham to London to take the Crown in 1647.
The cottage is a traditional thatched Devon longhouse nesting amongst old Devon cider apple orchards. You will be welcomed by cobbled and flag stone floors, a large south facing garden perfect for tea time, and the family pets, a friendly cat called Crust and Clive the tortoise.
Hilary and David have carefully restored this beautiful old house, and welcome you to stay in the vaulted ceilinged and spacious bedroom. There is a bathroom with shower just down the hall for your exclusive use during your stay. The bedroom has a very comfortable double Hypnos bed, tea and coffee facilities and a table to work at if required. WiFi is available. A second double room is available for groups up to four and is used for a booking of 3 or more.
Breakfast ingredients are sourced locally and make full use of the wonderful food that Devon produces.
Hilary Burns is a well known basket maker, and the room houses some of her collection of baskets from around the world. She also has some of her own baskets available to view and purchase.
You can wander in the large flower-filled working garden, from which the herbs, vegetables and fruit are often used in the cooking.
