Terrazza Ionica is a 120sqm penthouse with an exclusive 40sqm terrace with sea view.
The apartment is located in a central and served area of Syracuse and is only 350 meters from the cycle path and the Latomia dei Cappuccini. At 2km the Archaeological Park and the Stunning Island of Ortigia, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2005 and included in the World Heritage List.

Penthouse on the 6th floor with lift, recently renovated composed of a large "air-conditioned" living room with sea view, "air-conditioned" kitchen with balcony, two "air-conditioned" bedrooms, a bathroom with shower and a double service.

What makes our Penthouse truly unique is the wonderful 40sqm exclusive terrace with Sea View where you can spend entire days in harmony and relaxation.

Ionic Terrace is equipped with all the necessary accessories for your best stay and LCD TV, washing machine, deck chairs, wifi connection and 4 air conditioners are just some of the many comforts of the apartment.

If you like sunbathing, just 350 meters away you will find a beautiful cliff with the rock of the two brothers in Sicilian called "ru frati" where a solarium platform is equipped in the summer season.

Food lovers will be spoiled for choice among the many restaurants, pizzerias, ice cream shops and pastry shops that offer typical and gastronomic products of Sicilian cuisine.

Just 4 minutes by car you can reach the beautiful island of Ortigia which is the beating heart of the whole city: just a square kilometer and yet an enchanting treasure trove of treasures and natural beauty ready to amaze you.
Temples, castles, ancient aristocratic houses and baroque churches determine the charm of the small island dedicated to Artemis. It is pleasant to get lost in its alleys, in search of rare atmospheres lost elsewhere and which are perceived even more alive than ever here.

Ortigia strikes precisely its human dimension, its tranquility and in its small but intoxicating market resides its soul. Between fruit and vegetable stalls, cheese shops, typical products and fish stalls, in perfect harmony, all the colors, flavors and scents of this enchanting land can be enjoyed in the evening in the typical local trattorias or in its refined restaurants.

From the Aretusa terrace, especially at sunset, the whole city is dominated: from the ruins of the Greek fortress of Eurialo, to Etna, stopping to gaze at the elegant Federician fortress of Castello Maniace, the southern tip of Ortigia that seems to caress the blue waves of the sea.

The undergrounds of Ortigia unfold telling the secrets of its people and jealously guard other treasures: the "Jewish Bath" in the heart of medieval Giudecca, and the Hypogeum of Piazza Duomo, theater of the local chronicles of the Second World War.

The gaze is also lost in the wavy Plemmirio, today a protected marine area, an ideal destination for nature excursions by sea and land, and which is located close to the seaside areas of Syracuse, Arenella, Fontane Bianche, Ognina and Terrauzza.
A few kilometers from the city another magical place: the "Fonte Ciane", testimony of the love between the beautiful nymph and Anapo.
Here it is recommended to go up the river by boat, among unique specimens of Papyrus to the source.
Papyrus in Syracuse still retains its memory, not only in its small museum but above all in quality craftsmanship which, faithfully following the recipe of the ancient Egyptians, reproduces the beauties of the city aretusea in watercolors on original papyrus paper.

Syracuse is all this and much more: a continuous discovery, between warm and welcoming people.

Syrakus, Sicilia, Italien

In the nearby you could find some interesting places to visit: Latomie dei Cappuccini, the "ru frati" rocks and the "Rossana Maiorca" cycling lane.

The “ru frati” rocks o scoglio dei ‘ru frati - The two brothers rocks (ru frati in Sicilian language)
are among the Grottasanta neighborhoods and viale Tunisi, in a bay called "Costa ‘re Piliceddi".
The sea depth does not exceed 20 meters. In front of the rocks in the summer season (from June till September) there is a sun deck. The "Big Rock", more than 12 meters high and about 70 meters away from the coast, is the largest, and is also called "Elephant" or "Mammoth" for its structure.
It is divided in half by a narrow slit running from the sea level and through it to the top, forming two caves in its interior.
The back is exposed to the open sea and is composed of sharp rocks and holes dug by the waves. The "Little Rock", 5 meters high, is about 50 meters away from the coast, and takes the form of a small boat.
To the left, the rock is flat and is overlooking the sea.
On the right slides toward the sea level and is full of holes and sharp rocks, because of its exposure to the open sea.

Latomia dei Cappuccini
It is the largest of the quarries of Syracuse; in the Sicilian language is also called “sibbia”. It was used since the sixth century BC as a quarry to enrich the city of monuments and homes. After the victory over Athenian troops, the captured soldiers were imprisoned and left to die inside the quarries (413 BC). In addition, there are traces of a later use at the Greek time as a place of worship and pagan and Christian necropolis.
At the end of the sixteenth century, the Latomia was integrated into the monks' convent.
From that time it was used as a vegetable garden for the uses of the convent, the monks created the garden and an irrigation system. In 1868, the entire complex of quarries has been acquired by the City of Syracuse as a result of the church property confiscation law.
Only at the beginning of the twentieth century, the area was open to the public.

“Rossana Maiorca” Cycling lane
The Rossana Majorca Cycling lane was opened in 2008, replacing the old railway line. It is about 7 km long and connects one of the most beautiful and scenic parts of the city. Along the trail, you can visit the nearby Latomie dei Cappuccini and the Monumento ai Caduti italiani d'Africa, from which the dirt track begins. Through the side entrances, you can explore the rocky coast with the Capuchins rocks and the Ru Frati Rocks. Along the trail you can see the high voltage poles used previously for the railroad, the abandoned building of the former Santa Panagia Train Station; the gulf where the Greeks had built the Trogilo’s Arbour; the Santa Panagia Byzantine chapel and the “Toonara di Santa Panagia”. The remains of the Dionysian walls cut the path, as well as several quarries of the Greek era. There are also some bunker used during World War II to defend the coast. December 12, 2015 was inaugurated the "Sculpture Park" along the path of the cycling lane.
