For the ATV/UTV Enthusiasts
Wolf Pen Gap, only 8 miles from the house to either the North or East trail heads, offers 42 miles of marked and looped trails. Some of the coolest attractions are the two footed oak tree and abandoned mines. You might encounter deer and maybe even our lovely black bears (don't be scared, just observe, they're more afraid of you than you are of them)! And remember, when in the woods, leave nothing but foot prints and tire tracks!

For the hiking enthusiasts, there is the Earthquake Ridge Trails, Orchard Trail, Shady Lake Trails, Queen Wilhelmina State Trails, Black Fork Mountain Trail, Buckeye Mountain Trail, Buckeye and Caney Creek Loop, Athens-Big Fork Trail, Lover's Leap Trail, Earthquake Ridge Trail, Black Fork Mountain Trail, & Shady Lake Trail. The Ouachita Mountains offer a plethora of marked trail heads if you take a ride on the scenic route 71 N. Mena also offers The Blue; Zipline & Farm.

For Hunters
The Arkansas Game & Fish Commission offer several out of state Hunting Licenses. There are 5 Day, 3 Day, and 1 Day hunting licenses that offers the ability to hunt all game excluding bear. Each level of hunting license offers tags for deer or turkey. The Ouachita Mountains offers plenty of public hunting spaces starting October 31st through December for hunting. There are several local shooting ranges.
