From the first day we arrived, we did not have WI-FI. The host, Rayssa, knew it because when we entered to the flat, she announced that it has not been working, that she was going to call for support service and it would not take too long to be solve. As days passed, communication with her went from being limited to zero, since 23th of February she did not answer our messages (sent via (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) -the only service were able to used while we were at some cafes with free wifi connection). We also tried to call her, several times, and she never answered.
We believe that if she knew there was no internet, should have warned us before we arrived. As costumers, one of the most important service is Wi-Fi (which is extremely necessary abroad, in order to communicate, research for attractions of the place or even to call for a doctor in case of an emergency, as unfortunately happened to us).
Apart from that, the apartment was full of ants and one of us had an allergic reaction rash apparently because of them. When Valeria, my friend, had the reaction we could not communicate with our families in Buenos Aires or the medical insurance through our cell phones, as we did not have wifi. That was why we had to call from a public booth. To the emergency we had to go to a local medical guard, and spend 400 reais (100 USS), as if we had wifi service, we would not spend anything.
The last night, internet came back. A support service employee of the company NET, came to the apartment on 24th of february at 9pm to solve a problem for the cable tv –which did not work too – no for the WIFI service. He said that: “complaints received by the NET company from Rayssa, were not of the internet but for the cable service”. I told him we needed WI-FI service and because of this employe’s good will, he went back to his truck to find the tools needed, turned and change the router that was broken. Finally, that was why never had service, the router had broken.
The next day, we left the apartment at noon, leaving it clean and everything tidy, even better than we received it.
Rayssa never apologized or try to communicate with us by her own will.
