Barnes is close to Kensington High St (Palace & gardens), South Kensington (3 Museums: Natural History, Science & Victoria & Albert), Knightsbridge (Harrods), Hyde Park & the West End and is well served by public transport. There are 5 bus routes Nos: (goes directly to Westfields Europe's largest Shopping Centre in Shepherds Bush) , 33 & 419, all go directly to Hammersmith. The No.419 travels down my Road. Nos 33 & 72 are 24-hour buses. There are also other 24-hour buses from Hammersmith to West End & other parts of London. There are two national rail stations: BARNES & BARNES BRIDGE, both go to Waterloo (links up with the Metro) and other destinations in and around London. We are near the main arterial roads: A3, A4, M3, M4 (Heathrow Airport) and North & South Circular. Good connections to the M25.

The beautiful landscaped gardens both front and back, designed by myself, are good for al fresco meals. Guests can use the huge kitchen/diner. There is residents' parking. Visitors permits are available

The local area, looped by the river Thames, ('Barnes on Thames') is a small London village with many pubs, (including the famous live jazz venue "Bulls Head" ), restaurants,
cafes (all day breakfasts), delis, artisan bakery, local butchers, fish shop, frozen food cook shop, a weekly Saturday farmers market, artisan shops, 2-screen cinema and a lively social calendar. This makes for a great local community run by the "Barnes Community Association" (BCA). Check us out online at: or there is also the "Barnes Village Newsletter" for more uptodate current events.

A Convenience Store is 3 min. walk. Barnes has five mini supermarkets: 24-hour Tesco/petrol station, Marks & Spencer Food, two Sainsburys & Londis, plus local butcher, fishmonger, greengrocers, bakeries, etc, etc. We have a local cinema, sports facilities with tennis courts and 5 a side football pitches. Plus the Barnes Sports club. Barnes is very green with plenty of places for walkers, including a riverside Wildlife Reserve and the Wetlands Centre which is worth checking out. Ideal for bird watchers!

Other nearby local attractions include the world famous Kew Gardens, Richmond Deer Park, Bushy Park and Hampton Court. You could also visit neighbouring Sheen, Mortlake and Richmond.
