Sweet little cottage on absolutely lovely property! Very quiet and pretty, clean, well-stocked (though could use a med size pot for boiling pasta.) Plenty of blankets and good heat. Host makes great muffins. Everything we needed for an easy holiday (since I'm too ill to get out and hike.) The chickens are fun and friendly.

Linda was great. She accommodated our last minute request to book and even let us stay on an extra day. Everything in the cabin was meticulously attended to, with all sorts of extra comforts; from fresh Italian espresso coffee to a whole library of movie videos and more. She and Gordy were really the consummate hosts. Wonderful spot in the creek and just minutes away from the hot springs. A true gem all around. We look forward to our next stay. 2!

A little ways from South Shore, but not just close enough. Beautiful area. Really cool cottage with a unique feel. Spacious deck, really healthy looking chickens roaming about. It is quiet, and pretty private. Neighbors nearby but not too close to ruin the feeling of seclusion. No downsides to speak of. Linda is an incredible and kind host. We didn't want to leave. We are looking forward to a return visit! PS You might want to gas up in South Shore or something. The nearest gas station is quite pricey.

Having lived in Markleeville many years ago Linda and Gordys cabin is a diamond in the Sierra mountains. I would recommend their cabin to anyone. It has all the comforts of home with a homestyle touch. And if you forget something they probably have 2 of them. I would defiantly say ask them for sight seeing tips... I didn't need them but they are a wealth of information! My only regret is that it took me so long to go home to the mountains I love and cherish. Tip: Bring the camera and lots of film! And don't forget to visit the hot springs up the street!
