Der Wohnraum

All season mountain lodge with spectacular river views and close to Stratton. The house has four master suites all with their own baths, plus a magnificent great room, den, loft, large kitchen with island, and dining room that seats 12. The lodge was built in 2012 by the Wadsworth Company, and designed with noted Montana builder Highline Partners, to inspire guests with one of a kind mountain and river views, relaxation, outdoor activity, and intimate time with family and friends.

There are 4 areas for gathering: the great room with grand lodge fireplace, the den with fireplace and HDTV, the loft with reading area and 6 person card table, and the kitchen with large island and wet bar. The bedrooms are as follows:

Log Cabin Room (1 king bed)
First floor bedroom designed as an elegant and cozy log cabin with a two person soaking tub and view of scenic on West River. En suite bathroom with double sinks, soaking tub, and rain shower. There is plenty of room to add one of the lodge's fold out beds.

River Room (1 king bed)
Second floor bedroom designed as the master suite with a spectacular view of the West River and Ball Mountain. En suite bathroom with two person soaking tub overlooking river, twin sinks, and double rain shower.

Mountain Room (1 Queen, 1 XL twin)
Second floor bedroom designed as a mountain cabin with a rustic bunk bed with queen on the bottom and XL twin on top. En suite bathroom with double sinks, and large rain shower. There is plenty of room to add one or two of the lodge's fold out beds.

Trout Room (1 Queen)
Second floor bedroom designed after a fly-fishing lodge with vintage fly-fishing gear and river front view. En suite bathroom with large rain shower. There is plenty of room to add one of the lodge's fold out beds.

Additional Beds (1 queen + 2 single beds)
The house also includes two foldable single beds and one queen blow up mattress. The single beds are perfect to add to the Mountain Room to make it a 5 person bunk room, or to add a bed to any of the other bedrooms. Put the queen mattress in the den to make it a fifth bedroom, with its own bathroom on the first floor.

The house is an all season retreat with Stratton’s award winning skiing and golf course 7 miles away. Mt. Snow is 15 miles away and Bromley is 17 miles. The island has miles of trails for snowshoeing and cross country skiing in the winter, and hiking and mountain biking during the fall and summer. You are steps from fishing for salmon and trout, and swimming during the summer. Enjoy the barbeque and a fire pit for roasting marshmallows and telling stories. Jamaica State Park is 1 mile away with extensive hiking, biking, snowshoe, and cross country skiing trails.

The house is located on a 100 acre private island on the West River, which only has two other homes, and is accessed by a scenic covered bridge.
When you are at Dreamcatcher Lodge you are transported to a rustic mountain retreat that embodies the grand mountain homes of Montana, Colorado, and Wyoming, yet is only 3.5 hours from New York, and 2.5 hours from Boston.

Each room has been uniquely designed with a theme that has been achieved by western architect and interior designer. The great room is framed with massive windows overlooking the river and a grand lodge fireplace, family sitting area, and chess table. The construction of the house embraces reclaimed material, using beams from old barns, antique white oak flooring, Douglas fir siding from old factories, and railings that came out of a 1800’s Victorian hotel.

The house is 1 mile from the town of Jamaica. Jamaica is a charming Vermont town with two excellent restaurants (Astas and Three Mountain Inn), three bed and breakfasts (Jamaica House, Astas, and Three Mountain Inn), craft and antique shops, coffee shop (Jamaica Coffee House), and market (D&K Market) with fresh baked goods and everything you need.

Children are welcome. Keep in mind that the lodge is appointed with fine furniture and art, so supervision is suggested. Also keep in mind that the lodge is located on a river, so children should not play by the river unsupervised.

Spa and massage services are available by appointment.

One of the most magical weeks! The house is glorious. Comfortable. Impressive and user friendly! We wanted for nothing. It's the perfect home for a big family and a group with kids and babies. The finding table open kitchen, lounge, decks and fire pit make for a socializing extravaganza. The rooms are private enough to escape. I will be back!!

The house was magical! My group was in awe of the spacious, yet cozy rooms, gorgeous woodwork and magnificent fireplace. We had four couples in our group and everyone had their own private bedroom with an attached bathroom. There were even a few folding beds and a blow up mattress that could have accommodated additional guests. The kitchen was wonderful, large and well appointed with more than enough space to accomodate our entire group. We never even left the house to go out for any meals. We skied Stratton, which is only a few miles away and went on a few long hikes along the beautiful river behind the house. I would most certainly recommend this home to my friends and anyone with a large group to accomodate.

I am from Boston, MA and built Dreamcatcher Lodge with my wife to be a unique mountain getaway that brings the feeling of the grand lodges of Montana and Colorado to the east coast.
