When you get to our home at 479 4th Street:
1) Climb the outdoor staircase.
2) For your safety and convenience, we use keyless locks on the exterior of the house. The code is the same for both the first and inner exterior doors. Follow these directions precisely:
a) Press the SCHLAGE logo.
b) When the keypad lights up, press the code that has been sent to you by email in the READ AND SAVE email. You will hear the door opening.
c) Once inside, please lock each door manually. You will do this step twice, once for each door.
3) When you LEAVE the house, you can lock each exterior door electronically by simply holding the door shut and pressing the SCHLAGE logo. You will hear the dead bolt moving into position.
Once inside, climb the internal staircase TWO flights to the top floor. Your room will be on the right. It is labeled BLUE ROOM.
The bathroom is around the corner from your bedroom, in the same suite.
In your room, you'll find a handy laminated sheet with ideas for coffee shops and such in the Slope. It also includes the WiFi password.
Please enjoy the brand-new outdoor deck off the kitchen on the main floor; watch your step going out, and please close and lock the inside door when you come back inside. Make yourselves at home in the kitchen. A breakfast bar to the right of the refrigerator offers plates and mugs, as well as some simple snacks. Just please wash your dishes and leave them to the right of the sink.
Check out is at 11 a.m. Let me know if that is a problem.
Two other things: We have a dog. She is very friendly, but she sometimes likes to bark. Please don't be nervous about that. She loves our guests. She just barks to announce herself. If you can give her a little hello by letting her sniff your hand, that's all she's looking to do.
Also: We are a no-shoes house. We would be so grateful if you would please take off your shoes when you first enter the house. Bare feet, slippers and socks all are great! We do this to protect the health and well-being of all of our guests and to try to keep the house a little quieter for our guests and for our ground-floor neighbors.
A note on directions: We live on 4th STREET in Park Slope, 11215. Not 4th AVENUE. And not EAST 4th Street. If a cab driver needs to set his or her GPS, suggest Sotto Voce, a restaurant at the corner of our block. The driver can then loop around to 4th Street to the address of our home.
Again, thanks so much for staying with us.
Please feel free to enjoy and use all public spaces in the house: living room, kitchen, dining area, outdoor decks and, of course, your beautiful suite.

We have been Airbnb hosts since 2014, and we love to share our newly renovated homes. We'd be delighted to welcome you to Park Slope or to our oasis across the street from Bard College, and we can help with everything from haute coffee shops to travel directions. Our homes are informal yet impeccable: a brownstone that shows its exquisite 1899 Victorian heritage and its 2017 state-of-the-art enhancements AND a country getaway built by an esteemed Hudson Valley builder, along the rushing Sawkill Creek.
