I am an educator with a background in the performing arts. I made my way to the east coast in my early twenties when I was cast in a Broadway show and eventually discovered the Connecticut River Valley while performing at The Goodspeed Opera House, a national theater and historic landmark just seven miles away overlooking the Connecticut River in the village of East Haddam (it's second stage is here in Chester just steps from my home) . It is during those seasons as a performer at the Godspeed I fell in love with New England. I have also loved raising my now grown children here in Chester with it's postage stamp of a village within walking distance from my home, Norman Rockwell surroundings and bucolic lifestyle, yet sophisticated in it's abundance of cultural arts, seaports, farmlands and open space.
As a host, I will greet you at the door of my home of more than twenty-seven years, with an addition made in every century dating back to the 1700's and a serenity that has not changed since as it sits twenty five feet from a babbling to rushing brook (depending on the season), that flows into a beautiful pond with waterfall. Open your bedroom window and you will have nature singing you to sleep. I will share a bit of my passion for Chester's village, filled with artists galleries, five star restaurants, live theater, music, hiking in state forests, nature preserves, antiquing, and the surrounding beauty of the Connecticut River where the fresh water turns brackish and the ocean's shoreline is filled with boatyards and more quaint waterfront villages just a few miles away. There is plenty to do and I am happy to suggest or guide you in a direction that suits your lifestyle. After that you are on your own. I want you to enjoy the house, brook and all the Connecticut River Valley and beyond has to offer.
