Discover your inner Wild Thing in Elmo’s jungle retreat near Wilpattu National Park.
This is the type of place where you’d imagine yourself growing up like some sort of Mowgli, a feral child among the animals of the wild. Well… ok, Elmo may not be that wild, but it surely is a huge step away from the urban jungle most of us live in. Situated in the middle of a 25 acre private jungle, with its own lake where you can swim and elephants come to drink, a stay in one of Elmo’s two simple rooms is a great way to log out.

Your host Elmo lives on the property to take care of his guests. Food and drinks can be provided on site, so you won’t have to travel for the basics. Throughout the years, Elmo has turned his place into a good spot for a quiet retreat, allowing for camping and even trekking on the property itself.

Neverbeen offers a wide variety of rare homes off the beaten track, from fisherman's huts and tree houses to heritage homes and tea estates. Our team hand-picks and visits every home and meet all hosts to make ensure guests have a positively memorable stay in places they've never been.
We provide travellers and home owners in challenging locations with access to one another, by offering communication services, online marketing services and tourism training, so that locals can make a living off their home and travellers can get to stay in places they have never been.
As such, Neverbeen works for a world in which everyone has the chance to earn income by renting out their home, regardless of language, internet access and tourism experience.
In Sri Lanka, Dishan manages our growing group of homes in cooperation with our scouts, while Rohan creates listings and provides service. In Amsterdam, Marten works out international growth plans. Our team of in-house programmers is constantly developing the platform itself and Ernst & Young does our finances.
The first country we're active in is Sri Lanka, a beautiful country with many undiscovered places to stay. Due to it recently having opened up to tourism after decades of conflict, it is a great place to start and pilot the Neverbeen concept. We plan to expand to ten countries before the end of 2017.
