Warmherzig und hilfsbereit. Historisches Gebäude im kolonialen Stil.

There was a little miss understanding on our check-in time... in the end we used 24 hour time. Alejandro was very welcoming but it was a little awkward explaining to his sister that my partner and I were a lesbian couple and there was no mix up in sleeping accommodations. There was also some confusion about breakfast. Our check-in paperwork said there would be breakfast between 7am and 8am. When we asked about it via email we didn't get a response until the morning we left. Alejandro was nice enough to scrounge up some instant coffee and water for us when we got in (which was very nice). Overall, the place was a great location, the room was clean, and the water was hot. We would stay there again.

The place is in perfect location and we could walk to most of the sights. Jose and his sister Ceci have been really helpful and hospitable. We would recommend the place to anyone who wants to spend a few days in Arequipa without going beyond your budget.l

This AirBnB was exceedingly disappointing (this is our first truly negative review on AirBnB, so we are not typically difficult to please). The home was not as described or as shown in photos. The day manager was very difficult to deal with. The hot water went out, and the Internet stopped working. And it was dirty most of the time we were there. I have provided further details on each of these items below. My husband and I decided to stay in Yanahuara (farther from the city center than other options), because 1) the photos were charming, 2) the reviews (although not recent) were glowing, 3) and there was supposedly a full breakfast, which meant we wouldn’t have to eat out three meals a day. Boy, were we disappointed. The house has potential to be quite cute, but it was extremely dirty, particularly the first three days. It was dusty (many rooms were closed off and unusable due to dust, with couches covered in sheets), and the shower was full of dirt and grime until the third day when someone cleaned. The kitchen was very dirty the entire time we were there (whoever cleaned that third day did not bother to touch the kitchen), and after attempting to cook at home one day, my husband and I opted for eating out rather than use gross cooking facilities. The “breakfast” in this house was a joke. It consisted of: an open jar of runny mustard (that sat out the entire time), instant coffee, tea bags, and three rolls of old bread, two of which had been torn in half at some point. That was the first two days. On the third day, someone threw away the bread, so there was just mustard and coffee/tea. The entire time we were there, the dining table was filthy—covered in bread crumbs, bits of egg, coffee spills, and used napkins. There also weren’t any matches to light the stove the first few days, so we cooked eggs in the microwave (yum?) one morning and then decided to eat out the rest of the time, because we couldn’t stand eating off of the dirty table and we didn’t think it was our responsibility to clean it. The coup de grace of this place was the day manager. In other reviews, people rave about Miguel, Lisa, Ruth, and Mari. We met none of those people. Alejandro was there the first day, and he was quite nice. He gave us suggestions and was pleasant to deal with. However, Cecilia, the person that was there the majority of the time, was unbelievable. She follows guests around and talks to you nonstop, refusing to leave you be or let you leave the house/room where she has trapped you in conversation. She repeats herself endlessly in a way that is simply difficult to comprehend. I am not exaggerating when I say that she trapped me in the bathroom for 10 entire minutes, explaining how to flush a toilet, how to turn...

Nice place to stay in Arequipa. We were free to use all living and outside spaces and the hosts made us feel very welcome. They often checked if we needed something and offered there help with arranging a taxi.
