We are a charming six acre working homestead in Eliot conveniently located 4 miles from historic Portsmouth, NH. We offer cozy accommodations & a daily organic self serve breakfast.
With 18th century charm, Shilo Farm offers comfortable accommodations with rejuvenation and convenience in mind. The feel of the home has been described as rustic elegant with an eclectic flair and our walls are filled with a unique collection of original art for inspiration and reflection.
We currently have three spaces available: The Farm House Suite and the Skylight Suite are located in the main home. The Barn Retreat is a stand alone dwelling with a small kitchenette. All have private bathrooms and share the kitchen and all common spaces (ie the Dining Room and Living Room). The description as follows is specifically for the SKYLIGHT SUITE.
ACCOMMODATIONS: The Skylight Suite is perfect for a couple, a family with a child or 3 adults. The suite has a Queen Sleep Number Bed and adjacent room with a twin daybed. There is a private bathroom with a stall shower as well as a shared half bath downstairs. Please note: We do not have air conditioning, so it can get quite tropical in the depth of summer. We have fans for your use. The kitchen is fully equipped and open to all guests. It is far from the bedroom, so your peace will not be disturbed.
PRICING: Our listed price is based on double occupancy. If you are traveling with a child or additional friends or family, there is a $2o surcharge per guest. Children under the age of 1 are free.
Because we believe that sleep is one of the main pillars of health, we have invested in a Queen SLEEP NUMBER bed to ensure a restful and rejuvenating night of sleep. We use only ORGANIC linens and towels and non-toxic cleaners.
NOTE: The home is a rambling farmhouse and is attached to our residence as well. However, we are self contained in our own unit so you can have as much privacy as you desire. There is the Community Living room and Dining room that separates both units.

Enjoy the serenity of the landscape while you sip on your morning coffee or tea. We invite our guests to join us in morning animal chores of collecting eggs and feeding the goats. Our fire pit is a wonderful evening activity after a day at the beach or enjoying the sites of Portsmouth.
Interaktion mit Gästen
We can interact as much or as little as you desire. We love to meet new folks and will be happy to give you advice on the area....but if it's privacy you crave...than it is yours! Just let us know! We will be in the kitchen to restock the shelves for your continental breakfast, access the fridge and put on coffee per request.
Weitere wichtige Infos
NOTE: This unit has stairs and no ability to place a safety gate. So, it is not an ideal space for toddlers. It can also get warm in the summer, as we do not have air conditioning. There are plenty of fans available to keep the air moving.
ADDITIONAL HOLISTIC AMENITIES:
YOGA: Schedule a private Yoga class with Jonas Zev.
ADVENTURE: We can also provide guided hikes and kayaking excursions based in availability.
Feel free to spend time with one of our many furry creatures. We currently have a Great Pyrenees pup (Her name is SHASTA) who is in training as a Livestock Guardian Dog, three adopted cats, 5 Nigerian Dwarf Goats and 40 Chickens. We are a no-kill homestead and use only the eggs and milk from our flock and herd. We do ask that you enter the paddock areas only when we are home for safety reasons.
NO SMOKING PLEASE: We are a non smoking property and ask that you do not smoke in the house or on the grounds.
NO PETS PLEASE. We wish we could host your pets as well, but unfortunately our 130# Livestock Guardian dog Shasta is the protector for our goats and chickens and gets uncomfortable with other animals on property.
We have a two night minimum from May through October.
