A light and bright cottage in a grove of milkwood trees. It’s a minute's walk to the Long Beach surf spot, a long white beach and a beautiful mountain-and-ocean view. The space is simple and pretty, with sounds of the sea.
This cottage is situated in a grove of milkwoods, a minute’s walk from the sea. It has lots of pretty details, from the Moroccan-style mosaic shower to artworks and vintage things. Skylights, sliding doors and portholes make it bright inside, and the trees give it a magical feel.

On my property is a traditional English shepherd’s hut, which I stay in when I have guests in the cottage. Apart from the driveway, which is shared, the hut is completely separate from the cottage and the two spaces are both private.

I've always worked with words and images, as an editor on travel & wildlife publications in South Africa and Scotland, reporting for a newspaper in the Orkney Islands, writing and publishing children's books, and as an online editor. My roots are Scottish; I love Celtic music and singing. I travel as often as I can, but when I can't I surf, swim, go walking, have picnics, eat sushi.
