Our room with original timber flooring is furnished with teak furniture and antique glassed windows facing a water garden one can relax with. It comfortably fits two and it is strategically located in Ipoh Old Town where all the famous eateries are!
This room is called the Blue Rumped Parrot room. It is part of a restored building now called Sarang Paloh Heritage Stay, the result of a heritage restoration project in the heart of Ipoh Old town. This premise was the first Chinese bank in Ipoh and now readapted into a boutique hotel. Facing the garden, this relatively spacious room is sized at 290 sq ft.
Sarang means nest in Bahasa Malaysia (the local language) while Paloh is the old nickname for the town of Ipoh. We aspire to be like a home away from home - a nest for the travelling bird.
To stay true to the restoration spirit, we only use reclaimed timber floorboards salvaged from other buildings and reclaimed Marseille tiles that were traditionally used for the buildings built in that era (1920's - 1940's).
Not forgetting the functionality of the room in modern context, it is furnished with air conditioning, fan and hot water supply.
