Vegetarian guest house set in the beautiful Charente Maritime area of France. Ideally situated to explore the Atlantic coast and the historic sea port of La Rochelle. Other places within easy rreach are Cognac, the Marais Poitevin and the iles of Ré, Oleron and Aix. The nearest airport is at La Rochelle and there are airports at Bordeaux, Nantes and Poitiers all within 2 hours drive. The TGV from Paris stops at Surgeres, a mere 10 minutes away and the ferry port of St. Malo is around 31/2 hours drive.
The house has 3 good sized bedrooms; 2 with double beds and 1 with 2 singles. Extra camp beds are available as are travel cots. There is a large garden to enjoy the peace and quiet and there are boules and a table tennis table for those who like a little more activity. We offer a table d'hotes (dinner) cooked by a top, vegetarian chef using fresh, local ingredients (some from the garden) to create beautiful and mouth watering food.
For those who like a little more independance we have 2 fully equipped apartments/gites converted from one of the farm buildings which are suitable for up to 4 people - 2 bedrooms in each apartment with a large living space, kitchenette and dining area.
This listing is for 'Rose' room. We also have Lily and Daisy available for larger groups. (Maximum 8 people).
There aren't many rules to follow! Pets are allowed in the apartments (see seperate listing for Chocolat and Cafe) but not in the main house. There is a camp-bed available for a 3rd guest. Cots for babies are available at no extra charge.
David and Lorraine moved to France in 2003 with their 2 daughters ; Elen and Isabel. Beore moving to the Charente Maritime they ran 'Tomlins' a highly acclaimed restaurant just outside Cardiff, Wales.
