I provide you a small room but warm Ethiopian house. It is a cozy, clean, safe, and pleasant place to stay in Lalibela; it is also perfect for couple that want to sleep near or just for one person and that want to discover Ethiopians' way of life.

I provide you a small room but warm Ethiopian house. It is a cozy, clean, safe, and pleasant place to stay in Lalibela; it is also perfect for couple that want to sleep near or just for one person and that want to discover Ethiopians' way of life.

I think you can really appreciate our room and our culture if you came to africa to discover the real Africa, how we live here and you want to live as we do. Our little house is near the Ethiopian Airlines Office and Asheten hotel. If you come, you will get the chance to stay in a real, clean, warm and lovely place. You can also lock the room from inside and outside for your security.

During your stay you will have the room to yourself only. There is a double bed and we will provide clean sheets, blanket and towels. We have electricity in the house so you will have light, and you could watch TV and listen to music if you like. There is a tap with running cold water in the garden. The (African Style) toilet is outside the room and is shared with our neighbours in the compound. We will provide you with a bucket of hot water to wash outside of the room like we usually do as we don't have running water in the room. Otherwise, we can arrange for you to have a real european toilet and shower in a hotel close to the house. No worries, it is clean and with hot water. On your arrival we will welcome you with a traditional coffee ceremony, and we'll make cook you a nice breakfast in the morning.

You could go around by yourself and be as independent as you like. Otherwise, I could help you to move around the town which is quite different from where you come from. We could recommend to you what to do, where to eat, to buy things and what is a fair price, what to visit here, and we can also recommend you a good English speaking guide. I would be happy to get to know you, and find out about your culture and interests. If you like, we could share a nice dinner with my family or friends eating the typical ethiopian food called ingera.

My neighbourhood is really nice and safe. All my friends and family live around. The place is a couple of minutes walk from the city center and close to restaurants, shops, internet points, bars, the famous churches...

You can walk around all the sites in Lalibella, as it is a small town. If you like you can take tuk-tuk's as well, which might be a good idea after dark. Also, we can help you with organizing local buses and trips around the area.

I can offer you also my services as a special guide, and I'm happy to guide you on walks in the local area, and around the city.
I am not an offical guide (because for that, we need to study for 3 years) so there are some actvities I can't do with you. But I can introduce you to some official guide friends of mine, who speak good English, and can take you around the churches.
So if you want to visit our 11 amazing churches and it would be a pity for you not to see them, I can show you where is the ticket office (the price is 50 dolar or almost 1000 birrs for foreigners). You can go by yourself or pay an official guide to explain you the story and show you everything.
Then what I can offer you is to bring you to do a walk in the mountains around to see one church in the top (the entrance fee is 200 birrs) with a beautiful landscape and really remotes houses. The price would be 100 birrs each person so in total with the entrace fees 300 birrs each (12 euros).

My name is Fisha Tariku. I was born and raised in Lalibela and I have three sisters and one brother. I am 23 years old. As for my life outside of the school you’ll most likely find me playing football, reading books, in church or sharing moments with my friends and families.
I am studying in Lalibela preparatory school in the night time and I started meeting and serving foreigners in the day time. Beside my study, I would be happy to host people directly in my home and make them discover our culture and our town.
