The apartment is in the heart of Florence- 30 seconds from the Duomo, 10 minutes from Ponte Vecchio, 15 minutes to the train station. Nearby, along Borgo degli Albizi, there's a large collection of cool bars and restaurants, including a supermarket. The street felt very safe at night. The apartment itself is on the second floor without a lift which may be a problem for someone with knee problems. It is extremely well stocked (including spare light bulbs!), clean, and quiet at night. It is quite large so plenty of room for two people. There are two double mattresses; the second one is up a narrow flight of stairs. The dryer on the washing machine was a little weak but there is a clothes airer so that works well. There is an aircon/heater that works very well. Like most old Italian apartments, there isn't much natural light. I think this is standard though. The mattresses are passable. The TV is in Italian but there's great wifi so we were able to stream anything we wanted to watch. Elena is absolutely lovely!!! She and her husband met us at the apartment and helped us carry up our heavy bags. They also left us a bottle of wine and cookies. She replied instantly to all our queries and let us check in early and check out late. They apparently live close by but we didn't have any issues. I really think you won't find much better for any trip to Florence!
The flat was as described. The location is excellent. Just minutes from the Duomo and within easy walking distance to all other sights as well as the train station. We only used the bus system to go up to Fiesole. Elena and her husband met us at the flat and were very helpful in getting us settled in. They recommended a grocery store and wine shops nearby. The flat was very comfortable for 2 adults but might be a bit cramped for more. The second bedroom is in a loft that is cramped and has no room for storage. We were in Florence for 1 week and enjoyed our stay very much. We would definitely book this flat again.
Second time staying at Elena's. We loved the place last year when we also stayed over the Christmas season and this year was just as good. Fine location, nice warm room, good wifi, quiet, good supermarket and restaurants near at hand, good solid dining table with good solid chairs. Kitchenette has a dish washer which was useful to have. Downsides? The hot water in the shower needs to be used sparingly, because the tank isn't so big. Just need to keep that in mind so not a deal breaker. All in all, thoroughly enjoyed staying here. Would recommend.
This is a cozy and comfortable little apartment right in the heart of the historic area. We were here for a month. It was easy to live in for an extended stay and everything was accessible and within easy walking distance, including the train station for out of town excursions. Loved our stay.
