We have a million dollar view of Mt. Hood and the Columbia River from the terrace of our house. You can watch the magical light show on snow covered Mt. Hood as the sun rises, passes over and sets in the evening. And it's free for all of us!
The house is architecturally unique, featured in a book on Northwest homes. It was built of eco-friendly materials so that its thick walls keep the house cool in the summer and warm in the winter. All the beams and woodwork are from a 100 yr. old dairy barn that was 'repurposed'. The gorgeous view over the Columbia River and Mt. Hood can be enjoyed from two terraces. It has a fully equipped kitchen, cable TV/ DVD/CD player, Wi-Fi, fireplace, washer-dryer, a library of guide books and maps for the area, outdoor grill, a dog kennel. The house has two bedrooms, sleeps 4. It is comfortably furnished with a mix of antiques and upholstered furniture.
The house is part of a compound that also includes a yurt and a barn (with two additional bedrooms and a bath - additional listings.)
As for dogs, let's talk. Maybe.
There are great restaurants in both White Salmon and just across the Columbia in Hood River, OR.
We have traveled around the world and find this spot one of the most lovely on the planet.
No smoking on the property; no pets in the house. We do not have any pets at present.
