Coming to Transylvania for business or pleasure? We are your perfect destination in Sibiu, to spend the night or day in the cultural capital of Romania.
Vila Monica is 5min walking from the train & bus stations and a short 15min walk to City Center.

NYE Price ***
For New Year's the price is $30/person (Thursday Dec 20 - Tuesday Jan 3)

Our Vila’s lovely location is in one of the city's residential neighborhood's only 5 min walking distance from the main Train and Bus stations (Gara) and 15 min walking to the City Center (Large and Small Square).
*Note to get to the train and bus station and to city center you'll have to use the passage - which is a stairway underground to pass on the other side or the rails. It's safe and we had no complaints, but if you are a single female and don't feel safe at night, I'd recommend takin a taxi which is just a couple bucks.

Villa Monica has 5 bedrooms each with a private bathroom. Every room has a queen bed that accommodates two people and a full private bathroom with a place to shower. Think of it as ‘Hotel Style’.

The bedrooms are located on the second floor of the Vila while the kitchen is on the first floor. On the ground level there is a small supermarket/grocery store where you can buy food, drinks, fresh bread, fruits or traveling essentials.

If you book The Master Bedroom (#3) there is an additional space for two people in the room, as we have a sofa bed. If you book Master Bedroom (#4) there is an extendable mattress that accommodates one extra person.

PLEASE NOTE:
This listing doesn't have instant booking. If you'd like to book our rooms, please see all my listings under my profile and book the individual rooms as needed.

Free parking on the street.

Free Wi-Fi internet connection for your convenience.

The kitchen is a common place where you can have coffee, tea, pastries. The kitchen is equipped with microwave, refrigerator, coffee machine, table & chairs.

Please inform us about your arrival CHECK-IN TIME so I can ensure a smooth check-in. I love meeting new people but at the same time, I also value your privacy. English is my second language and I'll try my best to communicate with you.

If you you have any questions just ask! I would be more than happy to help you with any information you might need.

If interested I can put you in contact with private guides that can show you Sibiu, or arrange for a private tour of Romania. We can also help you rent bicycles if you interested in touring the city by bike. Just let us know by sending me a message.

Our neighborhood is safe, lovely, and very easy accessible – see getting around for more info.

Our vila is located in the residential neighborhood of Sibiu called Lazaret, which is predominant with houses. It’s a quiet neighborhood at night, but comes alive during the day.

We have a grocery store on the ground level of the Vila as well as a bakery with fresh bread; the closest restaurant is a block away.

Our Vila is located:
~5 minutes walking from Gara Sibiu, the main railway (train) & bus station
~15 minutes walking from the city center (Piata Unirii)
~5 minutes drive from the entrance/exit of the highway
~20 minutes drive from the International Airport

Public Transportation and bus routes of interest:
No. 5 - links Gara (station) with Piata Unirii (city center)
No. 11 - Piata Unirii to the airport
No. 13 - Gara to Muzeul Satului (Astra Village Museum)
No. 22 - serves Paltinis Resort
No. 23 - serves Rasinari village
Tickets (1.50 lei) for Sibiu’s buses must be bought from a kiosk or vending machine before boarding, and stamped in the little machines once on board. There is a fine of 50 lei if you are caught with no ticket.

Taxis are cheap in Sibiu and perhaps better than buses for longer distances. Just make sure you take a taxi belonging to a trusted taxi company, with the numbers 942 or 953 on the side.

Because the house is close to the main stations you can move around anywhere in the city; or you can take the bus or train to visit the surroundings.

AIRPORT: We are located 15-20 min drive from Sibiu International Airport. From the airport you can get to the house by taking public transportation or by taxi, it should cost somewhere around 4-4.5 euro maximum.

There is a bus station near the airport entrance. You can buy a ticket from the dispenser placed near the station, but you need Romanian money. The ticket price is about 0.35 EUR.

If you drive to the house or decide to rent a car, we have free parking on the street. Please note the street is under construction at the moment (you can drive but some parts are uneven).

Walking directions: 5 min (500m)
FROM: Gara /Sibiu Central Railway Station Piața 1 Decembrie 1918, Sibiu)
TO: Strada Lupeni Nr 16
- Head north on Piața 1 Decembrie 1918
From the Train/Bus Station to come to the house you need to get on the other side of the railroads. To do this, there is a passage (underground) that takes you under the railroads and on the other side.
- Turn right onto Pasaj Lupeni
Take the stairs underground, and when you come out on the other side you'll be on Lupeni Street.
- Continue walking on Lupeni Street. Destination is on your Right: Strada Lupeni 16, Sibiu, Romania

The Villa has a supermarket/grocery store on the ground level named "FLORIS". When you arrive, walk in the store and ask the store manager to let Ms. Monica Popescu know you have arrived.

Everything was as in the descriptions. Good wifi and parking location. Quite neighborhood and close to city center. We had a small issue with the heating but it was solved. Recommend the apartments for future visits.

Clean rooms, a few minutes drive from the city center, located on a quiet and safe street. Hard to communicate with Monica, she barely understand English and her children were not around (We could only text\sms with her daughter). This is private rooms and not an "entire place" as described at airbnb. we came as a family with children, and it was not convenient for us. Uncomfortable beds and a lot of stairs to climb up (not simple at all when you have some suitcases).

Monica was very nice and responded quickly to my questions. My wife and I traveled as a large group, my side of the family and her side of the family. Needless to say, I wanted to make sure this works logistically and she answered promptly. Each bedroom was fitted with their own key to lock the door and there was an individual bathroom and shower within the bedroom. That means she can rent out each bedroom individually and the guests do not need to coordinate or wonder if they are sharing their bathroom and shower. In all honesty, I found her place to be comparable to the Ramada hotel room in Bucharest.

My daughter (second picture) is managing the online Airbnb profile for me because my English is not fluent.....however I will do my best when you arrive at the house to communicate and make sure you are having a pleasant stay. This is your opportunity to practice your Romanian :))
I love to travel and this is one of the reasons we opened the door to our house to host people form around the world that have a passion for traveling and visit what this amazing city (Sibiu) in the middle of Transylvania has to offer.
