Two bright and beautiful double bedrooms, pretty garden, period features and wooden floors throughout. Close to cafes, parks, Italian bakery at end of street. Excellent transport links, just outside Zone 1. Two resident cats and a homely atmosphere.
The flat is on the ground floor of a Victorian converted house, with two bright doubles with plenty of storage space for clothes. They sleep five comfortably with a large front bedroom and smaller back bedroom, as well as additional single bed (I can put this wherever you'd like).
I love hosting and I do whatever I can to ensure my guests are comfortable and happy, and that their stay in London is as special as possible. I provide breakfast (cereals, jams, home-baked bread, milk, tea coffee etc), hairdryers, an iron, adaptor and anything else you may need. I can also help with itineraries, suggest restaurants, local secrets - just ask.
The front bedroom is large with a bay window and fireplace, it gets the sun throughout the day so is lovely and sunny. It has a double bed and is decorated in a homely country style. It has a high spec bluetooth speaker you can connect to to play music. The second double has a large window overlooking the patio garden and plenty of in-built storage space to store cases, clothes etc. The flat stays nice and cool in the summer, and warm with central heating and plenty of blankets in the winter.
The flat has a large living/dining area, with a comfy sofa and a couple of armchairs, dining table, and Virgin TV. There is free and quick wifi. There is a kitchen with oven, toaster, plenty of crockery you can use and washing machine for clothes - I will leave detergent and softener for you. The kitchen opens straight into the bathroom which is a little unconventional but makes getting ready, making toast etc in the morning nice and easy.
There are two fridges, you have one for your exclusive use in the kitchen. The kitchen leads into the bathroom which has recently been redone with bath, rainfall shower etc. It's lovely and relaxing taking a bath as it backs into the garden with no road noise.
Neighbours are pretty quiet and friendly, and there is a small and peaceful patio garden which I have recently had fun decorating and planting in (it even has a beach corner!), and gets the sun throughout the day.

Everywhere throughout the flat except for a storage space under the stairs which I use for my own storage.

You will have the flat to yourselves but I am happy to offer as much or as little guidance you like before and during your stay - I love living in London and can share my favourite places and tips with you. I also have the Lonely Planet London guide for your stay, and I have plenty of other books and travel guides on London.
I speak a little French and Spanish and am keen to practice. I am happy to give advice on where to go in London, recommend restaurants, cafes or museums. Equally, if you just need a place to stay and a key that is also fine. If I am away during your stay I am always just on the other end of the phone or email and will have somebody local to help you out whenever you need.
I love that there are so many little delis and cafes in the area, particularly along Brixton Road. There is a farmers' market by the church five minutes away on a Saturday. There's a fantastic Italian bakery a minute away on the end of the street with fresh bread and good coffee. Brixton is ten minutes down the road on the bus, with the amazing market with all kinds of food, new bars opening all the time.
Kennington Park is five minutes away, and a ten minute bus down another road takes you to the lovely Clapham Common. The South Bank is around a 20 minute bus ride away or under 10 minutes on the tube, as are the Imperial War Museum, Houses of Parliament, London Eye, the Tate Modern, Tate Britain, and National Theatre. The area I live in, Oval, is named after the Oval cricket ground which is a ten minute walk if you fancy catching some cricket while you're here.
I've listed a few more personal recommendations with a bit of detail about each in the map section here.
Buses and tube links are excellent. You can get to Central London in 20 minutes. The nearest tube is Oval station within Zone 2, on the Northern Line. Stockwell is a ten minute walk, also in Zone 2 and on both the Victoria and Northern lines.
Vauxhall is a 10-15 minute walk which has an overground station where many trains out of Waterloo stop, taking you to Richmond, Wimbledon, Windsor for the castle and parts of Surrey really quickly. Victoria station is 15-20 minutes away on the tube or bus.
Airports are super easy to get to, either on the tube, overground or coach from nearby Victoria (Gatwick is closest but others are also easily accessible). When you book I can advise you the cheapest and quickest way to get to my flat from where you are arriving.
Plenty of 24 hour buses within a 2 minute walk on both Brixton and Clapham Roads to Oxford Circus, Trafalgar Square, etc.
There is a Boris Bikes dock round the corner from the flat if you'd like to hire a bike. You can walk to the river in fifteen minutes, and from there along to the South Bank.
I can give you an Oyster card to borrow for your stay to save on bus, tube fares.

I do have two cats which live in the house, coming and going as they please. If you prefer cats not to come into your room that's fine. I can easily get a neighbour to feed them once a day but if you are happy to do so that would be great (they are very low maintenance and I will leave plenty of food).
I will be as flexible with check-in and check-out times as possible. I'm usually around to let you in when you need and will do my very best to accommodate your timings, I know how stressful it is being in a new city with bags so want to make things easy for you.
I love kids and I would say my flat is pretty child-friendly, let me know if there's anything specific you need if you're travelling with children.
Mutual respect (and no smoking).

I'm 30, I work for the Guardian programming debates and am usually pretty busy out and about, but like coming home in the evening to relax by cooking, reading, or with tea and papers in the garden at the weekend. The flat is my home and my sanctuary and I love sharing it with my guests. When I rent the whole flat out I love to travel and visit friends across the world.
I'm happy with short or longer term stays, e.g. students or anyone in London for work. Oh, and my cats rule the roost so it helps if you are not cat-phobic/don't mind an enthusiastic nuzzle every so often!
I have hosted on Air Bnb since June 2014 and it has been a fantastic experience. I look forward to meeting future guests and showing them what London has to offer.
P.S. That's not my dog, he's one of my Airbnb travel buddies :)
