Villa Astoria is located in Historic Anton, 2.5 hours from Panama City & minutes by car to beaches & mountains (a bit longer by bus).
Beautifully restored in the town's colonial style by local craftsmen, Villa Astoria offers comfy rooms and relaxing shared space & gardens.
The Villa is the hub of the 8th Life Panama Eco-Village Project, a co-work, co-living intentional community we're founding in the mountains nearby. During your stay, you may meet project members, supporters & volunteers.
Room #10 features a double bed off the rear terrace. Everything you need with ensuite bath, fresh linens and towels. Unpack for a long stay or enjoy a getaway weekend. Chill down your favorite beverage and enjoy a snack on the back terrace. The wheelchair accessible bathroom is located just outside of Room #8 - making it accessible to all the courtyard rooms.
Zugang für Gäste
All of our guests are welcome to share the open air terrace and equipped kitchen. The living room has cable TV and comfortable seating for indoor lounging. We have upgraded the WiFi and it's now accessible throughout the Villa and gardens.
For your laundry, we use earth-friendly products for washing clothes ($1.50 per load) and ask that you hang them dry on the laundry rack - but if it's urgent, we do have a dryer ($1.50 per 30 minute drying cycle). Be sure to coordinate with us, since we use the same laundry room for the linens and towels.
Interaktion mit Gästen
Rebecca is the owner and you can often find her working in the garden or enjoying a meal on the terrace. She enjoys meeting people from around the world and sharing experiences - she wears many hats and is occasionally unavailable, but for the most part makes the time to interact with guests.
We find that the shared space encourages guest to guest interactions that often turn into shared trips to the beach or a bus ride to El Valle (Anton Valley). You can find signed bottles of wine shared by visitors and certainly read through our guest book for tip and hints on traveller's adventures in the area.
Weitere wichtige Infos
We’re a bit different from an all-inclusive or hotel accommodation – and we’re proud of that! We appeal to the eco-friendly traveller and digital nomad lifestyle; the villa does not have air conditioning or hot water (a solar water heating system is in the plans, though) and promotes less water usage with cool showers and low flush toilets.
We are happy to uphold the Panamanian law of no smoking in public places.
The property doesn't accommodate pets, sorry! Although you will meet dogs, cats, roosters, chickens and maybe a parrot named Sandra or a bull named Favorito.

We run on a light staff so we appreciate checking in between 2 pm and 7 pm and a check out time of 11 am. Of course, with plenty of notice we can make exceptions.
Given our shared spaces we appreciate you keeping the areas clean and dishes washed. Any food should be stored our outside friends become inside pests when they have access to food.
The fridge is communal so please take things with you, throw food away or leave dry goods for the next guest to enjoy.
Once you arrive we can provide you with an orientation and there is a reminder manual in each room as a reference guide.
Hi there! I've lived in Panama for over 10 years & decided to do a historic renovation on this house in Anton after I bought it a few years ago. I'm a consultant, so I travel a bit but always have someone here to tend to guests. Villa Astoria is the first stop along the way to creating an eco-village. Want to talk about that, sustainable living, or permaculture, contact me.
