San Miguel is a city of celebrations - nearly 100 each year. There is always something happening. The city's cultural events in music, drama, art and intellectual dialogue keep coming all year long.
Don't forget the summer months. From mid-June the summer temperatures are moderate - mid-80s F. Many from the southern tier of the United States choose to summer here. This is also called our "rainy season." It is one of our favorite times of the year. The rains are usually brief and do not appear everyday. Although we are in the high desert, summers bring out the wild flowers in the countryside and the gardens in town are lush.
We ask that guests not smoke in the casita. The patio is fine. Please be respectfully quiet after 11:00 pm.

I started out in Waukegan, Illinois, a small city north of Chicago. I spent most of my adult life in Minnesota with a brief stay in Denver, Colorado.
I am retired and loving life in Mexico. The Spanish word for this stage of life: "Jubilado!"( as in "jubilation!") I love all kinds of music, theater, dance, art. I love to read and travel and meet new people and write. This is a place where you can experience all of this.
I moved to central Mexico in 2006, first to the city of Guanajuato and now in the neighboring city of San Miguel de Allende. I can't think of any place in the world I'd rather live.
In 2010, I met Judith - in Mexico - and a year later we were married.
We built a new house in 2014. Our new home includes a "Casita" (little house or apartment) for family and friends. It's also a place we share with guests from all over the world via Airbnb.
