We will meet you on arrival and are always just a phone call or email away.
Local phone calls from land lines in Barbados are free - so feel free to use the house phone.

Lower Carlton is a quiet area, the main attraction is lovely Reeds Bay excellent for swimming, snorkelling, fishing, walking, jogging and more. Walk north or south for more great beaches. If you'd like a busy beach for a change, head to Mullin's for people watching, water sports and a beach bar.
Blue Shells is located between the beach and the Main Rd (Hwy 1). For food and drink in the immediate area there's a small beach bar, Wanda's, just a couple of houses south on the beach and the very local Outback Bar&Grill just south on the Main Rd, on the land side.
You can buy fresh fish at the market in Weston, about 1,5 km south on the Main Rd and also in Speightstown, 4kms north.
Speightstown is a very cute small town, time seems to have stopped in the '70s. But you find a large supermarket, Jordans, a pharmacy, a couple of banks, street vendors of great fruit and veg, an art gallery, small shops and a few nice restaurants. There's the Lobster Pot, Orange Street Grocer and Juma's in the upmarket section and Fisherman's Pub and Island Plates for local food and experiences. Little Bristol is a nice beach bar.
Just north of S'town you find Port St.Charles and Port Ferdinand, both great resorts and marinas with nice restaurants.
If you head south from Blue Shells you'll get to the other West Coast centre, Holetown, where you find a couple of shopping centres and a larger supermarket, Massy's. In the upmarket shopping centre Lime Grove there's duty free shopping, bars, restaurants and a cinema.
In H'town you find a wine store, Wine World and first class restaurants restaurants like Nishi, the Tides and beach bars like Surfside and Zaccios.
There's also a 24hr medical clinic, Sandy Crest.

In Barbados we have very good public transportation. There are large blue buses, medium yellow buses and white vans (ZR vans) that all follow routes and charge BB$2 p.p. They run from early in the morning to about 11pm (very often until 8pm, about twice hourly between 8 and 11pm - less frequent on Sundays)
The larger buses stop at the designated bus stops, hold out your hand to stop it.
The white vans will pick up and drop off anywhere just hold out your hand. To go north you look for the bus stops that are marked "out of city", to go south they're marked "to city".
Taxis have no meters, so the first thing to do is to agree on a price and also the currency (insist on a quote in BB$, when it's time to pay you can always halve the sum and use US$). Taxi rides can be either reasonable or exorbitant, depending on the driver. If you find a nice one, ask for his card and call him when needed ( we can always recommend reliable drivers).
A taxi ride from Speightstown to Blue Shells shouldn't cost more than BB$25.
Transfer from the airport takes 45 mins (add 30-40mins for rush hours) If you'd like we can book a taxi to meet you, the price is US$45.
There are lots of car rental companies in B'dos, they all charge more or less the same. A good feature is that delivery to where you are staying is included in the cost, so there's no need to pick up a car from the airport and start driving when you're tired from travelling. We don't really have street addresses in Barbados, which could make it difficult to book a car yourself for delivery to the house- but we can always help you make the booking. There's free off the road parking.

In Barbados the voltage is 110 and the plugs are North American.
The password for the wifi you find on the modem on the bar counter in the kitchen.
In case you want to bring an old unlocked cell phone to use locally a SIM card is easily purchased in Speightstown from either Flow or Digicel.
