Apartment Nade - 2 weeks, family of 3
This was our third time in Split, so we have already done all the touristy bits and this time around we were more interested in hidden gems enjoyed by locals.
Emilija was very kind to receive us at late hours on our arrival.
PRO The location of the apartment is great, both to explore the old town and the Marjan. It takes less than 5 mins to walk down to the HNK (theatre), from there just two more minutes to the fish market on Marmontova. The apartment is on the ground floor, no need to take stairs, and it is located away from traffic so a good night sleep is guaranteed. The bedroom has a super comfy bed. The bathroom was well stocked with towels for two weeks. The kitchen is well equipped, we had everything for our cooking. There are plenty of plates and cutlery, glasses and cups, some pots and pans, even a large glass salad bowl to wash fruit or serve salads and a glass water jug for home-made lemonade to make from local lemons. There is a good-size fridge plus freezer compartment. Just across the big car park there is a green market, a cafe, a grocery store, a pharmacy, a post office and a playground too.
CONS There are three tiny windows in the kitchen-living area and there is good amount of natural light in the morning, but dark enough from noon. Keeping the front door open brights up the place brilliantly. The air gets heavy and used up during the night, but opening all the windows and the front door in the morning dries out the moisture in the air and fills the apt. with dry, fresh air. The bathroom has no window and really could use one as the fan extractor does not do much. No access to courtyard to dry your clothes outside, we got the impression from the photos that there is access. The bathroom could have been cleaner. The front door is facing an ugly graffiti wall. If you prefer to sleep well into the morning on your holidays please keep in mind that the neighbours upstairs are up early. We feel that apt. Nade is overpriced.
We had a wonderful two weeks in Split, the city has everything for a great holiday - sun, sea, local fish, veg and fruit, beaches every direction, pine forest, history, architecture, museums, restaurants, you name it.
We would recommend apt. Nade for short stays as the location is great and the nights are peaceful.
