I understand that Jay was not happy with his stay with us. I've been in communication with him since they arrived.
The internet router was purchased about a year ago, but it wasn't working when they arrived. I purchased a new router the day I was told it wasn't working.
The TV remote in the living room was not working due to the battery. Jay changed the battery for us, which I appreciate.
The large heater in the living room has been more than adequate for my previous tenants and is working fine. It still works fine, but Jay wanted an additional heater and he tried to use the tower in the corner. The tower has been used as a fan when cooling is desired. If people want additional heat, I have two additional portable room heaters in the condo. We also have a brand new soft heat baseboard heater in the master bedroom and radiant heat in each room controlled by separate thermostats.
The bathroom sink had a drain clog. I didn't know about it until after Jay had fixed it. I could've sent a plumber to take care of it, however I appreciate Jay clearing the clog for us.
The valve in the master bathroom faucet has become clogged and has since been repaired. There is a good supply of hot water in the master bedroom sink now.
Regarding Amenities. The paper products should have been provided. We have a new cleaning crew and it seems like they didn't provide a refill. We have this remedied for future vacationers.
Regarding cleanliness. The fingerprints/smudges on the sliding glass door should've been cleaned. The carpet was cleaned with a professional carpet cleaning machine by me a few days before they arrived. The cleaning crew was told to vacuum the house, which they must've done, because Jay told me the vacuum cleaner canister had not been dumped. The cleaning people should've cleaned the canister. The cleaning people told me they swept the hardwood floor, but they should've used a Swifter, so they weren't able to get all the dust up. The towels and linens were washed the day before they arrived. My cleaning people were told to use an unscented detergent. We require this type of detergent to keep reactions to allergies down. I had not heard a complaint about the linens and towels until I read this review.
We are sorry that Jay and his wife did not enjoy their stay with us. We are not pleased with our new cleaning crew and we will not be using them again. We have remedied the issues and we hope that Jay will give us another chance when he vacations again. We do appreciate all that he did while he stayed with us and how he kept in communication with us. We would welcome him back.
