Gordon Snug is a beautiful, modern suite, as cozy as a Hobbit Hole in the stunning surrounds of heritage-listed Gordon House, right in the heart of Theatre District at the top end of the CBD. With a heated pool, two cafés and 24-hour access, it's the perfect base to explore Melbourne.

Gordon House was built in 1884 for theatrical entrepreneur, politician and philanthropist George Selth Coppin, one of the fathers of Australian theatre. The building provided custom accommodation for Coppin's theatrical colleagues, modelled on the Chelsea Model Lodging House in London. Designed by renowned architect William Pitt, its symmetrical façade reflects Gothic, Romanesque and Renaissance sources, and its spacious courtyards allow for maximisation of natural light and air.

Little Bourke Street is a one-way street with no trams; its Paris End is one of the quieter parts of the city, particularly during week, with a few pedestrians, occasional cars, and sometimes the clip-clop of horse-drawn buggies going past.

The Snug is situated on the Atrium level of Gordon House, with the beautiful courtyard just outside the door, and the pool and barbecue area steps away. The apartment is essentially a hotel suite, with a bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and connecting corridor snugly occupying its 25 square metres. (The photos in the listing accurately reflect the space.) The apartment backs onto Little Bourke Street, with its windows opening into a light-well below street level, providing natural light while minimising street sounds, and its combination of wooden blinds and heavy hotel-style floor-to-ceiling drapes offering privacy and quiet.

Apart from the comfortable privacy of the Snug, our guests have access to Gordon Place's extensive range of hotel-style facilities, including a laundry with washers and dryer, a heated pool, lounge and study nooks, barbecue area, and two in-house cafés, with room service available.

Jeremy was a great host! He helped us with everything we needed, the house was fully stocked and set up, and the location was fantastic (2 min walk to Chinatown). The apartment has ample room for a couple, with a court yard / swimming pool area (great place for digital nomads to work). We enjoyed our time there and would definitely recommend it!

It's a nice small apartment. Cass & Jeremy prepare all needful things even small things such as sim card, Miky card, ect. It's great location and very clear guidance. They are considerate host. High recommendation to stay here.

Great little pad in a very central spot in the CBD. Stayed for 3 weeks and was a great base for getting to know Melbourne. Jeremy was an excellent host. Fully recommend.

Cass & Jeremy provided to us an absolutely perfect Airbnb experience. The apartment was stocked ever so thoughtfully with all types of extras that were just so well suited to a traveler's needs, and everything from the first booking enquiry onward was handled super efficiently. As people considering to host on Airbnb, this stay provided us with an amazing example of just how to host well; far beyond normal expectations. The apartment itself is indeed quite small, but the public space available inside and location of Gordon Place more than made up for this. The bed was super comfy, and the bathroom disproportionately large as well as being light, ventilated and clean.

little noisy on Friday and Saturday nights with being right on Little Bourke Street. Weekdays were fine. Close to free tram line, heaps of restaurants. Cass and Jeremy really make sure they cross their "T's" and dot their "I's". Great little apartment for short stays!
