A pretty detached, 3 bedroom flint cottage up a private drive with a wood burner, delightful private garden, terrace, summer house and deck area overlooking a pond full of wildlife near to a charming village with a great community run shop in an AONB with plenty of walks and wildlife on and from the doorstep, no light pollution, so amazing night skies, and the Jurassic coast close by to explore.

Die Unterkunft
Downstairs is the living room with wood burner & wooden floor and smart tv, well equipped kitchen, dining room/conservatory with tiled floor opening onto the garden, single bedroom, bathroom with separate shower, bath & toilet and small utility area with washing machine and separate tumble drier. Stairs lead to two light double bedrooms both with Kingsize beds, the main bedroom also has a TV and small en-suite loo . The whole cottage has super fast broadband. Out at the back there is a spacious patio with plenty of seating, a separate deck area with BBQ and summer house ( which has wifi, a heater and can be used as a separate office), and an established and grassy garden leading down to a pond, and a rotary airer washing line, garden tap and hose.

The Area
The cottage is a short walk to the charming village of Thorncombe and close to the town of Beaminster, the bustling market town of Bridport/ West Bay & 10 miles from the beaches of Lyme Regis & the Jurassic coast, an excellent base for all ages & activities. National Trust properties of Barrington Court, Montacute House & Tintinhull Gardens, the private houses & gardens of Forde Abbey & Mapperton are all near by & the Wessex Ridgeway, Jubilee and Monarch Trails are all on the door step, and we are close by to highest inland spot Pilsdon Pen and not far from Golden Cap on the coast, where there are endless walks too. For those that like a challenge we have the perfect cycling! Furleigh Wine Estate and Palmers beer are both near by for those interested into going behind the scenes on the making of local produce and for those seeking adventure rib charters, mackerel fishing, kayaking and electric bike tours are available down by the coast. Cookery courses are available at the near by River Cottage HQ and wood workshops in the idyllic woodland setting of Guy Mallinson’s magical woods. For eating there are many excellent restaurants & gastro pubs near by (The Lord Poullet Arms, Hix , River Cottage, The Ollerod & Brassica to name a few), several farm shops with local produce, as well as Waitrose & Lidl 10 minutes away, plus our village has a well stocked community run shop & cafe open 7 days a week and a small local playground.
