We call this the black and white room. Two new twin beds with comfortable mattress pads and comforters. Complete privacy as room is on a separate upper floor of house with its own half-bath and mini-fridge. Washer and dryer is easily available on this floor as well. A/C can be ready to use if you like.
Furnishings consist of desk, chair, chest, lamp, radio/speaker. Large (nearly) walk-in closet plus abundant storage in dormer enclosure.
Experience fantastic views of sunsets from the back porch enjoying the icicle lights and view of back garden and wooded area.
Location is walking distance from public transportation, restaurants and shops. Harvard Square is a 15-minute bus ride away and Davis Square is a 20-minute walk. Boston is reached through either Porter Square or Alewife T Stations via Mass Ave bus ride
We provide WiFi, use of kitchen and back porch and garden. Enjoy your morning coffee outside watching the squirrels and birds and smelling the flowers. Coffee is available. One parking space is available in the driveway.
Front and Back outer doors must be secured to prevent our Husky, Chloe, from running off. Also, consideration is key for use of the shared bathrooms.
Dennis is physically active, semi-retired teacher, participating in current event forums, philosophy clubs and mythological study groups. Interests in tennis, yoga and meditation. Originally from the Chicago area, have lived on the east coast as well, lived in the Bay Area for over 20 years.
Enjoy music from Leonard Cohen to Jack White, now listening to Black Keys, Tom Petty and Sachal Studios Orchestra - Take Five. Have seen 93 of AFI Top 100 movies. Favorite Authors in Science Fiction: Charles Stross, William Gibson, Philip K. Dick, Ursula K. LeGuin. Currently investigating healthy mediterranean cuisine.
Shirley is retired Human Resources Manager having served for more than twenty years in such well-known firms like TWA, USF and KTSF as well as stints in the Silicon Valley world with Hyperion, Slipnet and Everex. Other interests include travel to Europe to make documentary films on Celtic mythology, facilitating the Game of Transformation and researching the teachings of the Sophists and the Druids with the idea of creating workshops and writing a book.
Shirley is originally from England and remembers her mother starting the family tradition of opening her home to others. A member of W5, an intentional women’s’ hosting group, Shirley is an experienced B and B hostess who is ready to chat about current events or create a special English breakfast experience for her guests.
Her current passion is a new project she has created with her partner¬¬––Metis Game. The project is a game-based learning experience to enhance awareness skills and teach participants how to apply what they learn in the world.
For relaxation she enjoys watching British thriller series like MI5, going to La Costanera, her favorite restaurant on the coast in Montara, and creating candlelight dinners for friends.
Participating in international guest exchange programs in the last year, we've hosted folks from Australia, Switzerland, France and the UK.
