We live in a restored 18th century farmhouse near the beautiful Blackstairs Mountains in rural County Carlow. There is much to do in the area from boating to horse riding. We are also equidistant from the lovely towns of Kilkenny, Carlow and Enniscorthy.
Our home has panoramic views of The Blackstairs Mountains and is surrounded by a large mature garden. We are perfectly situated for enjoying the beauty of the surrounding countryside. If you want a little urban action we live 30 minutes from beautiful Kilkenny City, the market town of Carlow and historic Enniscorthy.
Our home is an older house and a family home. Although we make sure it is comfortable and cosy as well as neat and tidy please don't expect a "hotel" finish to the place. It is our home first and we are happy to welcome you and share it with guests.
Zugang für Gäste
You will have access to your room and the adjoining (shared) bathroom, the family room where we spend much of our time and, of course, all of the garden where you can hang out and dine al fresco should the fancy take you (and the Irish weather allow!).

We are happy to help out wherever we can. We know the area well and can provide directions (and more importantly recommendations) to local amenities. Although a car or motorbike is strongly recommended if you want to explore the area if you are without a car we can in certain circumstances arrange to have you picked up from either the bus station or train station in Bagenalstown . Please check with us if you need transportation before you press 'Instant Book'. Local public transport is minimal to non-existent.

There is wifi available at no charge. It is quiet and peaceful here so you will have no problems sleeping. We are a friendly and worldly family. I'm originally from the US and Annabel is Dutch. Annabel can help out in French, Dutch, and a little in German.
We generally prefer guest arrival after 18:00 but exceptions can be made if you let us know in advance.
If possible guest departure by 10:00 a.m. but exceptions can be made if you let us know in advance.
No smoking in the house but if you do smoke there are plenty of sheltered places outside in and around the garden.
Other than the above - be respectful of others - but that being said we like to have a laugh and if you are kind and friendly you'll be made welcome!
I am a film maker. Annabel my wife is a visual artist who also works in film. We live in rural County Carlow in our refurbished farmhouse on almost three acres of land. I am originally from the US and Annabel is Dutch. We have both lived in Ireland for most of our adult lives. We have two children Ben - 19 and Ella - 16.
We are an open hospitable family and we welcome guests. We are food fans and Annabel grows much of what we eat during the summer months. We are serious about caring for the environment while not being too dogmatic about it. We just do our best to leave a smallish footprint behind us.
That being said we too like to travel and see new things and meet new people. Now that the kids are older and the number of pets to care for has decreased we look forward to more traveling in the future. You never know, we may end up on your couch or in your spare room sometime in the not too distant future.
Anyways, please do come visit. We love where we live and we look forward to sharing it, and the local area, with you when you come.
