We had a lovely stay at Bob's place. It has a beautiful view of the bay and Hong Kong island. The building is well connected to public transport, and we found it easy to get around whether it was to take a bus (DB01R) to Tung Chung MTR ( to access cable car or Bus no. 23 to reach Po Lin Monastery to see the Big Buddha) or a Ferry to Central Pier from Discovery Bay (HK$40 per person) or the airport bus (DB02R costing HK$35 per person) to Terminal 1 or 2 or HK International Airport.
If you have a lot of luggage, then one does need to get a bus (T9) or a private taxi (the number we used: (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)) from North Plaza to get to the apartment building. Urban taxis that come from other HK islands are not allowed to drive around in Lantau island, and the closest drop off point is North Plaza taxi stand.
Bob has maintained and equipped the place well. The kitchen has enough cutlery with which to cook decent meals for a family of 4, which was really important as we're vegetarian, and there are not too many options in HK. Discovery Bay is an expat locality, so supermarkets are pricier. The place is calm and scenic, and we would definitely recommend Bob's apartment. Bob was also easy to access over phone or email and was helpful to sort out with queries promptly whenever we messaged him.
