The mid terrace period ex. Lock Keepers cottage comprises of a hallway, lounge (sitting room) with 2 reclining 2 seater sofas, a coal/wood burning open feature fireplace, large wall mounted TV with Sky and free view, dining room with solid fuel feature fireplace, dining table with 4 chairs and furniture, a brand new fully equipped kitchen with microwave, hob, oven, washing machine, dish washer and cooking equipment. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms each with double beds, luxury bedding and ample wardrobe space. The large bathroom has a bath with 'over' electric shower, toilet, sink, heated towel rail and plenty of brand new fluffy towels. To the rear of the cottage are 3 gardens, each with their own seating arrangements, plus a jetty (mooring) with seating over looking the back river, where there are ducks, swans and numerous birds to watch. There is an apple, plumb, damson and cherry tree where you can help yourself when in season (make slow Gin with the damsons). To the front of the house is a gated garden with seating where you can view the barges and cruisers pass in the manned working locks. The river can be fished in the open season. Lovely riverside walks are at the door step, a walk to the public house, The Leigh Arms, takes about half an hour, it's a beautiful trek! Neighbouring properties have horses and chickens.

Located on a small island and accessed by a picturesque lane along the tow path of the Trent & Mersey Canal. Surrounded by water, The River Weaver with the famous working Salterford Lock at the doorstep. This is a s narrow path, accessible by car. Parking and mooring is available.

We will welcome our guests in person, explain about the area, the finer details of the home and then leave our guests to their own devices, however we will be available to meet any needs/requirements.

To help welcome you to the cottage you will find a complimentary supply of tea, coffee, milk, bread, eggs, beer, wine and other essentials to help make your stay as welcome as possible. Guests booking a Friday night will also receive a bottle of Champagne. In the colder months it may be necessary to light the lounge open fire and the dining room solid fuel fire (which heats the central heating and water) some previous experience of fire lighting/managing may be required here. We do also provide electric heaters and the water can also be run on an immersion.
