Updated and inviting home in family-friendly Phinney Ridge neighborhood, centrally located with many Seattle attractions nearby. Ballard, Fremont, Greenwood, Green Lake, Downtown, restaurants, pubs, shops, nightlife, beaches, parks and museums await.
This updated Seattle home (in the Phinney Ridge neighborhood) is one of two units in a duplex, encompasses the entire second (top) floor with private access and no neighbors above. Thoroughly updated and contemporary design with lots of light keeps this space fresh, inviting and calming.
Two large bedrooms, each with a plush queen-sized bed, are sure to provide a comfortable place to lay your head. Large closets and dressers ensure you can unpack and make yourself at home, or use the luggage racks to easily access items in your suitcase without unpacking if that's your preference.
There's also a cozy den (with a door so it functions well as a small bedroom, though there is no closet in this room), which includes a full-sized futon (with coils similar to a mattress, so very comfy) that can be used as an additional bed for up to two adults or as a separate living space when used as a couch.
There are so many nearby restaurants and cafes to choose from, you may find it difficult to decide whether to stay in or go out for meals. If you do decide to eat-in, there's a fully-equipped kitchen and to help you quickly find what's on hand, there's a list in the Welcome Book that shows everything available. There's also a dining table that seats 4 and can accommodate up to 6 comfortably. Do let us know ahead of time if you'll need the additional seating and we will insert the leaves in the table.
Cable tv with plenty of channels and high speed internet access helps you stay connected to entertainment and/or work. You'll also find several books about Seattle and things to do in and near Seattle, Seattle magazines, playing cards, some board games, and a dvd player available.

This is really up to you. We want to make your stay as comfortable as possible and totally understand that while some love interaction and meeting new people as they travel, others prefer to explore on their own and have some down time, and we're here to respect your preference.
We live nearby and are always available to help make your stay everything you want it to be. If you need any information, directions or suggestions during your visit, we are always happy to help. Or, if you prefer to find your own discoveries, that works, too. Either way, we'll leave some handy information for you within the Welcome Book, which you can find on the desk in the living room. We strive to ensure your stay is clean, comfortable and enjoyable.

Guests with mobility limitations should take into consideration, the unit is on the second floor and is accessed by 15 stairs (fairly steep). For safety reasons, this location is not suitable for anyone with mobility limitations and small children should be monitored while going up and down the stairway. Once you get into the flat, there are no additional stairs.
Parking is available on the street: Please do not park in the driveway. The driveway is shared with the neighbor, so please be courteous of their ability to get in and out of their garage.
Absolutely no smoking inside. Yes, this includes marijuana. If it creates smoke, please do it outside; otherwise, we will enforce the security deposit to cover additional cleaning.
No parties. We also ask that you are considerate of your noise level after 10 p.m.
No pets please.
Overall, we simply ask that you are respectful of the property and space. If a major spill or accident occurs (including the floors), please be sure to wipe it up and let us know if it needs to be addressed further. We understand stuff happens (and it's usually fixable when tended to sooner than later).
Garbage/Recycle/Compost: Seattle is very strict about sorting waste, and will not pick up garbage if it has recycle or compost in it. Please use proper garbage and recycle bins in the kitchen for sorting your items. Food waste/compost pail is next to sink, and all food scraps should go into this pail. When appropriate, you can move garbage/recycling/compost into the containers outside marked garbage, recycle and yard waste (includes compost and food waste).
Departure: Clean and put away all dishes, dump garbage/recycling/food scraps into the outside Garbage/Recycling/Yard Waste bins. Bring all used towels & sheets to the laundry area. The front porch light is automatic, so you don't need to turn it on or off (ever). Lock the door, and please send us an email/text to let us know you've departed.
Please note that the home is professionally cleaned prior to your stay (and we do our best to keep the cleaning fee as low as we can). If you do not follow the departure rules, you may be charged an additional fee for the additional cleaning needed.
He's a native Seattleite (born and raised in Ballard) and she's from Hilo on the big island of Hawai'i (the rainy side, so it makes sense that she was drawn to Seattle). We both love spending as much time as we can with family and friends, traveling to and exploring new (and previously visited) destinations and discovering new things.
Aloha (love), ohana (family) and hale (home), pronounced ha-lay, all mean a lot to us and we strive to incorporate these into everything we do. We enjoy spreading aloha through our hales (homes) and by treating our guests as ohana (family).
We look forward to sharing our aloha spirit with you and helping to ensure your stay with us is memorable!
