Located in a semi-rural area, our 900 sq ft guesthouse is located on 10 acres to the southeast of downtown Santa Fe in a tranquil setting. It is the perfect place for a romantic get-away or peaceful retreat in a quiet wooded area. Santa Fe has a higher percentage of dirt roads than any other state capital in the nation and our property is located off less than a mile of dirt roads. While secluded, we are just a 20-minute drive to downtown Santa Fe.
There is a queen-size bed and walk-in closet upstairs. The spiral staircase leads you downstairs to pleasant living and dining areas, kitchen, work desk, and bathroom with a Raindance shower system. Amenities in the bathroom include: soap, shampoo, conditioner, and hair dryer. Iron and ironing board are located in the bedroom closet.
We extensively renovated and refurnished our guesthouse in 2014. The kitchen includes a frost-free refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and 2-burner cooktop (please note that there is no oven, but there is an outdoor charcoal grill). The style of the furnishings is contemporary and comfortable. While our guesthouse has neither cable nor satellite TV -- and most cell phones don't work here (though texting sometimes does) -- you won't be completely disconnected from the world. The WiFi provided enables you to get online, check your e-mail, social media, internet telephone service, etc. There is a separate phone line and answering machine for the guesthouse so that others can reach you by landline.
Downtown Santa Fe is just a 20-min drive away where New Mexico's unique blend of Native American, Hispanic and Anglo cultures can be enjoyed. For art lovers, Santa Fe boasts more than 200 galleries and more than a dozen museums. Annual festivals include the International Folk Art Market, Indian and Spanish Markets, Wine & Chile Fiesta, and Zozobra. For those seeking a bit of pampering, Ten Thousand Waves and Ojo Caliente are two well-known spas. For outdoor enthusiasts, mountain biking, walking, hiking, and skiing are nearby. And if you prefer to just take it easy, you can relax on the upstairs or downstairs decks or walk through nearby ravines and enjoy the beauty of our land.

We live in the main house on the property. We are here if you need help or have questions, but otherwise we respect your privacy and want you to enjoy your stay without interruptions. We enjoy meeting our guests and welcome a tap on the door from you to say "hello."
Weitere wichtige Infos
If you come to visit in winter, you will need an all-wheel drive vehicle. It can get quite snowy in our area and we don't want you to get stuck in the driveway. Our property is located off of dirt roads in a semi-rural area.
We have a 13-year-old malamute and two cats. While the dog will greet you with a tail wag and an invitation to rub her belly, and she loves her cats, she isn't so much of the view that sharing-is-caring with other 4-paws. So, while we love animals, we are sorry we can't accept any visiting pets.
We clean the guesthouse ourselves and do not charge a cleaning fee for your stay here. We ask you to tidy up before heading out:
Wipe off crumbs and goo from the counter top and cooktop.
Clean up spills wherever you made them.
Load dishes in the dishwasher and choose the “Normal” and “Dry” settings. Dishwasher tabs are in the cabinet below the kitchen sink.
If you moved things around, please place items & furniture back where you found them.
No smoking inside the guesthouse. You may smoke cigarettes and E-cigarettes outside away from open windows. Please dispose of flammable material carefully -- wildfires are always a danger in New Mexico and you don't want to start one! Please do not throw butts on the ground.
No burning of incense, candles, or smudge sticks in the guesthouse.
The toilet is a “bio potty.” Use only the toilet paper provided in the bathroom. Do not flush Kleenex, feminine products, or other kinds of toilet paper.
The mahogany kitchen counter and granite insert are not cutting boards. Please use the cutting board provided so that the counter top and granite insert are not scratched.
If rain is in the forecast, close all windows!
5 Nächte Mindestaufenthalt vom 23. Dezember 2017 - 28. Dezember 2017.
We have lived in Santa Fe since 2002 and cherish the climate and beauty of New Mexico. I am a clinical psychologist, originally from Northern Virginia, while my husband is a physicist who is from Basel, Switzerland. We enjoy hiking, reading, watching movies, traveling, and endless household projects.
